Composer Jacob Mühlrad has dedicated a musical piece to this year’s artwork in Princess Estelle’s Sculpture Park – Museum by Monika Sosnowska! The piece, Veer (Museum version), has been newly recorded by pianist John Nalan, who also performed it at the inauguration. You can listen to Veer (Museum version) on our website.

This year’s artwork in Princess Estelle’s Sculpture Park, Museum by Monika Sosnowska, is the first piece in the park’s history that is not only site-specific, but also entirely constructed on-site – from the ground up.
The process has been extensive, with every detail requiring precision, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of the artist’s vision. We are especially proud to have collaborated with the local expert team at @aroswater, who have brought Sosnowska’s complex and poetic sculptural idea to life with great sensitivity, accuracy, and professionalism.

Daniel had yesterday a meeting with the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation.

Daniel attended yesterday also an artist talk at the Moderna Museet with artist Monika Sosnowska, who has created this year's work in Princess Estelle's Sculpture Park.
The new installation Museum is Monika Sosnowska's first permanent work in the Nordic countries. The inspiration for the installation comes from a planned art museum in Rosendal, which was initiated by King Karl XIV Johan in the 1830s, but which was never built.
At the event at the Moderna Museet, Stefan Ingvarsson from the Swedish Institute of International Affairs spoke with Monika Sosnowska about her artistry and the new work.

Daniel attended today The Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation's Board meeting at the Royal Palace.

As part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Royal National City Park, the seminar “Why City Parks Are Important” was held at the Italian Embassy in Stockholm on 23 September. Executive director Sara Sandström from the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation gave a presentation on Princess Estelle’s Sculpture Park.

How can knowledge of art help children and young people to observe and analyze the world around them? And how can we spark curiosity and interest in contemporary art, which can sometimes be perceived as difficult to access?
New Art of the Day lessons are now available at www.artoftheday.se, featuring Giuseppe Penone, Charlotte Gyllenhammar, and Monika Sosnowska!

Very exciting news!

Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation moves into a new building at Rosendal – in the heart of Royal Djurgården
In the spring of 2026, Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation will move into a new building on Royal Djurgården. The 170-square-meter house, designed by architect Thomas Sandell, will provide the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation with a permanent base in the new sculpture park – a place to grow and develop.
The new building will initially serve as an office and meeting place for the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation’s expanding team and activities, while also offering space for events and temporary programs. A key motivation behind the initiative is to further develop educational programs for young people, with the goal of making contemporary art more accessible and inspiring new generations to engage with art.
Director Sara Sandström:
”Having our own building at Rosendal feels like a natural step forward. A dedicated space close to the sculpture park strengthens our presence in the area, creates opportunities for expanded activities, and clarifies our role as a destination. The establishment also reinforces our long-term collaborations with Rosendal’s Garden Foundation, and the Royal Djurgården Administration. The building marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for us.”

"The low November sunlight adds an extra dimension to the structures in Monika Sosnowska’s Museum at Rosendal Terrace."

M3 Bygg has been entrusted with the construction of a new building next to Rosendals Garden on behalf of the Royal Djurgården Administration. The 170 square meter building will be the office and meeting place for Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation and represents an important step in the development of the activities on Djurgården. The project is a collaboration between the Royal Djurgården Administration as the client, Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation as the future owner and user, Sandellsandberg Arkitekter, who is responsible for the design, and M3 Bygg as the general contractor.
The building is being built entirely of wood to blend into the green and cultural-historical environment. Function, natural material choices and feel have been guiding principles in the design, where the goal is to create a flexible, sustainable and user-friendly building.
The building, designed by architect Thomas Sandell, will serve as a central point for the Foundation's work and operations.

Enjoy the weekend at Royal Djurgården. Princess Estelle’s Sculpture Park is open every day, all year round. Feel free to use the map in our digital guide in the @BloombergConnects app. The guide can be used both on-site and remotely, and presents all our site-specific sculptures and the artists behind them through an interactive map and audio guides. The app is free to download from the App Store or Google Play.

Daniel attended today a meeting at the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation.

The Foundation posted some days ago to its LinkedIn:
Yesterday we celebrated the topping out of our new house on Rosendalsterassen on Royal Djurgården – an important milestone in the construction process and a moment we have long been looking forward to. We toasted in our new house and challenged each other to a game of boules in the neighboring house at Prince Bertil's Boulehall.
A warm thank you to all the craftsmen, architects and project managers from sandellsandberg architects, Plan57 Projekt AB, M3 Bygg AB and Royal Djurgården Administration who made this possible. A special thank you to Thomas Sandell and the project team who, with energy, precision and good humor, have driven the work forward.
Standing here under a roof that was just a sketch a year ago feels both surreal and fantastic. Soon we will have a new fixed point in the sculpture park – a place for work, guided tours, meetings and future activities.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!🎄✨
2026 will be a particularly exciting year, as our organisation continues to grow with new team members and, in the spring, we will be moving into a new building at Royal Djurgården in Stockholm.
Warm regards,
Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation

Members of the Royal Family yesterday at a symposium organized by the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation:

"On behalf of the Office of the Governor of the Royal Palaces, the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation PREKS arranged yesterday a mini-symposium in the Bernadotte Library about the Karl XIV Johan Art Museum that never came to be. The symposium took place at the initiative of H.M. The King in the presence of H.M. The King, H.R.H. The Crown Princess, H.R.H. Prince Daniel, H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip, Princess Christina, Mr. Tord Magnuson, H.E. The Marshal of the Realm and staff at the Royal Court.
H.R.H. Prince Daniel spoke about the initiative behind Princess Estelle's Cultural Foundation and executive director Sara Sandström presented Monika Sosnowska's artistry and the working process behind Princess Estelle's Sculpture Park.
Art historian Magdalena Hammar, PREKS fellow 2025, gave a lecture about our first Bernadotte's vision of a national art museum – the same museum that Monika Sosnowska has given new form to through the sculpture Museum in the Sculpture Park. Governor Staffan Larsson led the symposium and spoke about the Royal Djurgården Administration's work to develop the Rosendal area on Royal Djurgården."

Queen Silvia and Sofia were listed to attend, but they were ill, they had cold, Margareta Thorgen told to Svensk Damtidning.

The Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation published this video at its Youtube
"Almost 200 years ago, King Karl XIV Johan decided to create a grand museum dedicated to art. Drawings were drawn up, hundreds of tons of marble were delivered, and construction began. But suddenly – without explanation – the project was halted, and the vision fell into oblivion.
Two centuries later, Polish artist Monika Sosnowska hears about the unfinished museum and the rumor that parts of the original marble still lie in a shed outside Stockholm. Invited to create a new work for Princess Estelle’s Sculpture Park, she begins to explore the connection between the king’s unrealized vision and her own artistic practice."

The Foundation has published also these videos:
"Go behind the scenes in the documentary film The Inner Flow of Life, where director Palle Lindqvist captures Giuseppe Penone’s creative process for the artwork in Princess Estelle’s Sculpture Park at Royal Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden."

Hinden/Länna Studios have followed Charlotte Gyllenhammar’s art project Untold for Princess Estelle Sculpture Park at Royal Djurgården in Stockholm.

The Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation at its Instagram:
"Since January, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Rebecka as Art Educator for Art of the Day!
Art of the Day is Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation’s digital initiative offering short, free micro-lessons in contemporary art for schools.
“I want it to be easy to bring contemporary art into the classroom. Five minutes is not a long time in the school day, but it can make a big difference. My hope is that, over time, teachers and students will also want to create their own Art of the Day – perhaps featuring artworks found in their local surroundings.”
This spring, we are producing six new micro-lessons in Swedish, English, and Spanish, to be launched before the summer."
