Wow, what beautiful and magnificent are those palaces. Thank you for the pictures. Those grounds at Laeken are superb!.

What a beautiful home/castle. Somehow I just thought their home was much smaller

This week's edition of the flemish magazine Dag Allemaal has an article about Filip & Mathilde's home with beautiful pictures of Laken Castle and its gardens.
It has a picture of the playhouse that I didn't see before and one of the pool that is inside the greenhouses.
I don't have a scanner and can't find them online...

I found another picture of the swimming pool, I imagine its one of the features of Laeken castle most cherished by the royal youngsters. Like having your own Center Park pool. :cool:

The swimming pool is located in a glass/steel building that was erected by Leopold II., not as swimming pool but as church with space for 800 persons. This iron church was designed by Alphonse Balat, who also planned the green houses. It never really served as church and was used as greenhouse later, the swimming pool was installed during the 80ties or 90ties iirc.

Imagine that you see this every time you look out your window. And you can walk there if you feel like it.
I've been there twice already and it's back in my calendar. I do not know if I can go this year as it is for me not next door.
But if you are, I can highly recommend you the opportunity to go again.

I think it will be opened for three weeks (only). Perhaps I will finally go this time at the end of April, depending on how busy it is at work.
