So only 1 female recipient this year (litterature prize) 🤔

Surely there must have been some female researcher, doctor or econom that has made something worthy of a nobel prize 🤔 But i’m not surprised sadly

Q & A: Nobl Prize award ceremony and banquet 2024
There will be 1,560 guests attending the award ceremony and approximately 1,250 guests at the banquet.

The Nobel Foundation published today a lot of information about the Nobel Week events, here's some of it:

Nobel Minds
Since the 1960s, during the Nobel Week the laureates have gathered for a round table discussion for TV, Nobel Minds. The programme has a popular science approach and examines general questions related to science, research and literature. The programme will be recorded in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on 9 December in front of an invited audience. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will also attend. The programme is produced by Swedish Television and BBC World News. The discussion will be hosted by Zeinab Badawi of the BBC.

The Nobel Prize Award ceremony
The Nobel Day, 10 December, begins with the traditional Nobel Prize award ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall, which will start at 16:00. There will be presentation speeches about this year’s prizes before an audience of about 1,560 guests, who will then watch the laureates as they each receive their medals and diplomas from the hand of H.M. the King of Sweden. The seats closest to the stage are reserved primarily for the laureates’ families, representatives of the prize awarding institutions, and members of the government and Riksdag (Parliament). Seated on the stage will be about 90 people. In addition to the 2024 laureates, there will be laureates from earlier years. Also seated on stage, among others, will be members of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Nobel Assembly of Karolinska Institutet, the Swedish Academy and the Board of Directors of the Nobel Foundation. Seated in front of them on the stage will be this year’s laureates and members of Sweden’s Royal Family: H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf, H.M. Queen Silvia, H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria and H.R.H. Prince Daniel. In the first row closest to the stage the following guests will be seated: H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip and H.R.H. Princess Sofa, as well as H.R.H. Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill.

The Nobel Prize banquet
After the ceremony, it will be time for the evening’s Nobel Prize banquet at Stockholm City Hall. The banquet programme will follow tradition and begin with the entry procession ofthe Royal Family and other guests of honour down the grand stairway and into the Blue Hall at 19:00 CET. Prior to this, the guests of honour will have been presented to the Royal Family in the Prince’s Gallery of the City Hall. Behind the Master of Ceremonies will be two attendants, followed by H.M. the King with Professor Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Chair of the Board of the Nobel Foundation and the host of the evening’s banquet, and H.M. the Queen with Professor Hans Ellegren, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The Nobel Prize banquet is served to about 1,250 guests.

Preliminary schedule for the 2024 Nobel Prize award ceremony

I wonder if the royal ladies will all be in black this year

The King and Queen attended the Nobel concert yesterday evening.
Court singer Malin Byström was the evening's soloist. The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra was led by Czech conductor Petr Popelka.

The Table of Honour at the Nobel Prize Banquet was published this morning:

Silvia and Victoria are in dark colors, while Sofia went for a nice blue and Madeleine is in a gorgeous green gown.

Madeleine is looking more spectactular by the month. She's always been a stunning woman, but she's never looked so slim, trim and in control of her image. A lot of work must have gone into this, and I don't mean surgery by "work" of course! She's stepped right into her role again and it's a pleasure having her back, presenting the crown very well.

Did Princess Christina attended?

Any information about Countess Bettina?

Did Princess Christina attended?

No, we could see that already in the morning from the Table of Honour, which was published.

The procession was so late, it should have started already 20.03.
Countess Bettina Bernadotte didn't have a tiara this time.

Probably due the death of her sister

Tord Magnuson confirms that he and Princess Christina chose to stay at home this year.
"If you have been there 48 times or more, you can leave room for other guests," writes Tord in a text message and continues: "We take it easy in front of the TV for the sake of change".

Princess Madeleine shared a photo of her presence at the Nobel Prize on Instagram with the following caption:
"It is an honor for Chris and I to participate in this year’s Nobel festivities!"

Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson don't attend the King's dinner for the Nobel laureates this evening, they announced it with a text message to Svensk Damtidning.

King's Dinner for the Nobel laureates:
Nine prong tiara for Queen Silvia, Laurel Wreath tiara for Victoria, Cut Steel tiara for Madeleine, Aquamarine Kokoshnik tiara for Sofia.
Sofia has loaned Victoria's dress she had at the Nobel Prize Award ceremony in 2011 and at the King's Dinner for the laureates in 2015. Recycled dresses for all ladies.

The preparations in Karl XI's gallery began long before the dinner this evening. Expressen got to accompany during the last hours before the arrival of the guests, and learn what is most important to the king.
Around 140 guests are invited to the Royal Palace for this year's Nobel dinner.
Large dinners require a lot of staff, not least those who will serve the royal family and their guests. Today there are 42 people working, there are three people at each station for ten guests. Jägar and Löpare look after the king and queen.

The Royal Court about the dinner:
The Royal Family gave a small reception in Prince Bertil's floor to the Nobel laureates and their respective.
After that they greeted in the White Sea Hall other invited guests representing the government, the diplomatic corps, academies, research and science, the Nobel Foundation and others.

The guest list:

Its wonderful to have Princess Madeleine back at the Nobels and adding some additional of her international glamour to the events.

From last night
PPE Agency
I agree… Even if she’s not the most popular princess inside Sweden, she is the most internationally well known of our royals, together with her mother, and adds a lot of glamour and interest from the international press whenever she takes part in something - so it’s good to see her back..

Tonight, the TV program Snillen spekulerar (Nobel Minds) is broadcast on SVT. The TV recording took place earlier during the Nobel Week in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Palace in the presence of the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel.
In the program, the Nobel laureates meet and this year a conversation is held about, among other things, opportunities and risks with AI, about conditions for democracy and economic equality. BBC's Zeinab Badawi is the presenter. The program is also broadcast on BBC World News.

The program was recorded on December 9 and can be seen here at 20.00 this evening:

I watched the Snillen spekulerar/Nobel Minds discussion. It is fascinating to listen to the Laureates.
The Marshal of the Court/Head of Victoria's Household Isabella Törngren and Victoria's aide-de-camp Annika Ivner were with Victoria and Daniel at the recording.
Victoria gave a short welcoming speech in the beginning.

Photos of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia at the Nobel Prize.
They also released a message:
"We would like to thank everyone involved for a very solemn and well-arranged Nobel Day in the Concert Hall and City Hall. ✨
It is always a great pleasure to once again meet the Nobel laureates at the Royal Palace on 11 December.
Thank you for two days filled with exciting and interesting conversations!"

Happy for Princess Sofia! At last, she was able to don a tiara from the vault.

The Cut Steel tiara didn't look good on Princess Madeleine in my opinion. The Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara is one of my favorite Swedish tiaras, but the placement of the tiara on Princess Sofia's head was a bit odd (I could barely see the gemstones).

EDIT: On a side note, kudos for the Swedish royal ladies for wearing 8 different tiaras in two days!

I agree on both women's tiaras.

Here's one more tiara, the Mistress of the Robes, baroness Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke.

Pretty unflattering pics of the Baroness. Wasn’t there a time not so long ago when they didn’t film people eating at these things?
That must have been when Gustaf VI Adolf was King…

As long as i can remember they have always filmed people eating and conversing with ”expert commentators” being brought in to talk about what they are eating and what they are ”probably” talking about
