Half in and half out? Harry seems to me he seeks the aura of the royal family when any project he or his wife are involved need more free press coverage. The same exact press he complains about.

His constant drama with reporters and tabloids is also a half-in half-out love-hate relationship as long as the Sussex couple controls the narrative that can be summarized as:

1. Harry needs to be seen as a frail victim in every situation that depends on Meghan and Meghan only. We, the people, need to acknowledge his eternal suffering and that he's a source of wisdom on how us should live our lives.

2. Meghan needs to be seen as an influencer and powerful and mighty business woman independent of Harry and her pronouns are me, myself and I. If the world of social media has questions about wine, floral arrangements or coping with family, go and drink her wine because only she has the solutions one Instagram post at a time.

Sure, half in and half out? I wonder if they mean half in and half out of their minds and reality?

The executive of Magic FM saw the opportunity and jumped on it like a pro. Now he got all the free publicity any executive can only dream of and, if he's lucky, get a raise on his salary for being so clever. He used the duchess' ego to get his employer's radio station name go viral. Free publicity is good publicity.

Good luck when he gets to work with her demands knocking at the meeting room door even before she walks inside. And I'm sure, if it's an UK Radio based show, everyone in the kingdom will tune in to hear their favorite royal talk about a good table setting and how to select the right grapes for the wine. Don't forget Harry might pop in for the Christmas episode to narrate The Night Before Christmas followed by a Xmas carols sing-alongs with the wife.

The Sussexes will be honored with Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the Year Award at the organization’s World Mental Health Day Gala on Thursday, October 9 at Spring Studios in New York. They will receive the award “for their exceptional global efforts in building a safer, more equitable digital world for families and youth, and their meaningful contributions to advancing mental well-being worldwide,” according to Project Healthy Minds. Notably, the organization is spotlighting Archewell Foundation’s Parents’ Network, which Harry and Meghan’s foundation launched “for families and caregivers who have experienced the loss of a child due due to online harms.”

“Working with families and young people to prioritize safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives,” the Sussexes said in a statement today. “As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honored to support them. I assume this upcoming New York honour is another purchased 'gong'. Harry has done some good and worthy humanitarian work this year, but nothing at a level to make him 'Humanitarian of the Year'. It is a little embarrassing, frankly...

Harry needs to take one of my all-time favourite pieces of advice: "Never pass up a good opportunity to shut up". It has done me well on many occassions. I think it would do Harry extremely well, also...

How can you receive an honour as a worthy humanitarian while at the same time cut off your family from your life, and do not permit a grand father to see his grandchildren. Regardless of what they think they have done as a humanitarian you should find forgiveness in your heart.

Harry and Meghan are using the charity for attention, and the charity is using them for attention. One hand washes the other.

These honors are all self congratulatory between people and companies connected to one another. In order for Meg and Harry to market themselves as influencers, their associates via Netflix need to connect their names to honors and ceremonies that now seems to be a yearly situation. In return they get press to report on them during the event and while at it the Netflix collaborations are mentioned on the article or picture text under the photo.

It's a well oiled engine of self congratulations events where every participant seems to be there for a reason other than how we should accept them as the saviors of humanity. If the annoying Greta Thunberg had a Netflix deal for 2026, she would be there front and center to present the award to Meg as long as the caption mentions an upcoming TV project.

RE forgiveness in Meg and Harry's heart. Like Greta's current ship going to the Middle East for her to stay relevant, that forgiveness ship has sailed away years ago. When either one of their parents they are in conflict with is gone, expect books and a TV series episode on Meg and Harry showing and overcoming guilt with a lot of focus on scripted lines like "it affected me this way..." "I should have reached out..." etc. as sad music cues in with a fadeout focusing on an As Ever product.

I can't wait for her acceptance speech about her relentless worldwide work as an humanitarian and how her words have changed people's lives in her Colombia and Nigerian visits. I bet the presenter will bring up those two locations before she walks on stage, with Harry following behind or told to stay on his seat to watch her purse. 👛

I am not trying to stir things but really these quasi-bogus awards only serve to heighten the difference between the Wales and Sussex families...

We've just seen Kate at the height of a 'soft power' demonstration, hosting the First Lady and charming children with a gift of her honey as well; and then we get Meghan, collecting an award in between intervals of flogging sprinkles and spreads [not even jam as the fruit content is apparently too low ...]

I find it so hard. When the couple married, this was sold to us as the nation's favourite prince with his fun-loving approach to royal duties, assisted in these by his progressive and thoroughly 21st century wife and I was one of many who celebrated and rejoiced. Instead, we get this awful PR driven mess...

William and Kate do not need to "compete" with Harry and Meghan. Their position as Prince and Princess of Wales (and possibly King and Queen in the future) gives them an institutional role that is guaranteed for life and will put them permanently in contact with world leaders and other influential people in global society. It is Harry and Meghan who feel that they need to compete with William and Kate and come up with bogus "royal tours", awards, and similar stuff.

To be fair, Meghan seemed to have pulled back a little bit as she is concentrating now on her lifestyle business and being a front for the Netflix-controlled As Ever. Harry is the one who is still trying to pretend that he has an institutional role of some kind (in Ukraine, Angola, etc.).
 
Harry was not pretending anything when he went recently to Ukraine. He was invited to that country by a Govt Minister as the patron of Invictus, and also visited a hospital in Britain while performing that role. He went to Angola as patron of Halo, a charity his mother held dear.
 
In my eyes it is not WHAT he did that is pretend royal, but HOW he did it. I can put good money on the bet that there are tons of celebrities and politicians and charity officials who do the same and much more but who don’t put the spotlight of their relationship to power or fame, but on the plight of the war. (And the rest of the scope of the charities.) Even British non working royals or royal peripherics in Harry’s generation are doing a ton and don’t rile sensibilities.

However a report in the Sun on Saturday suggested the reunion had been more formal than expected, with the duke reportedly left feeling like he was being treated as an official visitor, rather than family.

I initially thought it was a private reunion. If the Sun's source was correct, it was not a reunion at all, just a meeting or an audience with a prince.

In a statement, Prince Harry's spokesperson said the claims were "pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son"

Sabotaging? Does that not sound familiar, just like when he accused in his book that the late Queen did not have the right people around her?

The Sun newspaper said Prince Harry had confirmed aspects of its reporting. It said the duke's office "was given full right of reply yesterday in advance of publication and opted not to give a response to the Sun's carefully sourced account of the meeting".

The Sun had initially said a framed photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's family was exchanged.

A family photo without the duke and duchess? Then it must have been just the Sussex children. Hopefully the King was given the front view, not the back.
 
Makes me wonder if the Sussex children are even aware of their grandparents or extended family on either side besides Doria. Not since Michael Jackson we have seen a celebrity behave like this toward their kids, but with Meg and Harry is really an obsession to prevent them having any contact with blood relatives.

They are royal grandchildren and Harry loves flashing his blue blood credentials in all those court cases. What part he doesn't get that they have an extended family and the only thing that prevents them from meeting them is their parents? Harry and Meghan seem more obsessed about branding and networking rich Californians than acknowledging the family that is the sole reason they can flash around royal titles.

And I have not seen a single picture online of Doria's side of the family meeting the cousins, nor being welcome at Meg's home. I guess rules are set there's only place for celebrities to be around the duchess at those houses rented for TV productions.

The king is not a young man and should not be made miserable. No, he is not a saint, but nor was Diana (the media seems to canonize her and thus the Charles hate). He finally has the top job and his 'spare' wants to be a constant pain. Marry someone who will make you a better version of yourself. Someone who has almost zero contact with ANY family members or high school or uni friends is a walking red flag. I have friends dating back to elementary school that I'm still in contact with. Just crashed with my high school BFF last week.
