The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Family, May 7, 2025--

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The duchess is a busy working mum and I don't think anyone really expected that she cooks every day but perhaps it wasn't the wisest thing to mention when you are promoting your own Cookery show!
Exactly! I have no issue with takeaway, even eating frozen meals occasionally is totally understandable for working mums.

But she just launched a cooking and lifestyle show! Why on earth would she say that publicly?

It’s like the CEO of Samsung announcing they use an iPhone — no one would say that out loud.

Once again, poor PR.

I’m trying not to be too harsh.

But where’s stay-at-home dad Harry in all this? His own website calls him an environmental campaigner (at least Meghan didn’t mention that in her profile).

Would he really be fine with takeaways and frozen meals, which aren’t exactly eco-friendly?

If Meghan’s not exaggerating, then it sounds like Harry isn’t helping much with school drop-offs or cooking either.

Well, here comes my contradiction. I’ve always said it’s totally fine for a trust fund baby to do absolutely nothing. And now here I am, annoyed that Harry’s doing exactly that. No school dropoffs, no cooking, just... existing. Honestly, I should applaud him for staying so true to form.

That sentence has me scratching my head too @Lee-Z, and I’m a native English-speaker! I’m not quite au fait with the ā€œsaladā€ dialect of California however! ;)
I've asked Chatgpt to translate it back to English:

"This statement is discussing how sometimes problems or tasks seem overwhelming because people approach them with the wrong mindset. The speaker is asking how to take something that is actually simple and make others see it that way. Essentially, they’re wondering how to shift people's thinking so that even straightforward tasks don’t feel intimidating or difficult to handle. The goal is to make the task feel more manageable and less daunting, even if it's easy to solve in reality."

I still don't get it. If it's simple stuff and easy to solve, why would you feel daunting?

From the articles and mentions we have at RFs on the couple, like the recent couple of years, I get the impression they live is separate worlds where planet Meghan has a moon called Harry that rotates around her projects, schedule and attention grabbing.

It's like a weird feeling that when she refers in conversation about Harry he is defined, for her, in the possessive term "my husband" and maybe by one initial "H". But when he speaks she is "Meghan".

And as we saw this week, the only time we see her posting pics together is when a distraction is needed. For example Harry made the news in a bad way wandering house by house on a street. He gets bad press and, like in auto-play, Meghan post that picture of them together at an event in an attempt to shift the conversation away from Harry not knowing what Google Maps is.

My impression is both are home-bound parents running a business of sorts from the house, and yet they are not really in synch with one another or their projects. Time will tell if this will be a sign of things to come when the children are much older and independent

I don't disagree -- and I'm not a Harry/Meghan fan -- but I'd offer a slightly different take on the points you made here.

I totally agree about "Planet Meghan," but I see it more as her taking center stage because she's the spouse with marketable skills for revenue generation. Say what you will about Meghan's ventures and approaches, but no one can fault her for trying to make something work.

The picture-posting strikes me as a sign that they are very much in sync. Anytime someone does something that could cast a negative light on or draw attention away from Team Sussex, and a picture or announcement pops up. Whether that's driven by Meghan's instincts or a PR firm running social for them, it works.

As far as her calling him, "my husband," that seems normal to me. "H" is a little cringeworthy, but maybe she actually calls him that. (I remember reading years ago that Andrew had his friends and shipmates call him "H" -- short for "Your Royal Highness.")

But Meghan is probably damned if she does/damned if she doesn't no matter what she calls him. If she calls him "Harry," some will says she's being too informal. If she calls him "Prince Harry," they'll say she's being pretentious. If she calls him, "the Duke," they'll claim she's rebranding him.

Her PR is so bad she just really can't win.

From The Telegraph:

The Duke of Sussex’s popularity in the UK has plunged after a BBC interview in which he claimed the King refused to speak to him.

A new YouGov poll revealed Prince Harry’s favourability rating had dropped to 27 per cent, its lowest for more than two years.

The Duchess of Sussex has also seen her popularity drop to 20 per cent, its lowest since YouGov began tracking it in 2017, the year before she married into the Royal family.

I live in hope!
She doesn't seem to have cottoned on that the vast majority of people are just not interested and tired of hearing (about) her. She seems determined to keep popping up all over the place, rather like whack-a-mole.

Yet without the IMO redundant title, she'd be of very little interest to anybody.

I listened to a few episodes of Meghan’s podcast. I have to say that her guests are quite interesting and have good stories to share as to how they built their companies which I have enjoyed. What bothers me when I listen though is Meghan comparing her journey to theirs. These are ladies who have been working on their companies for years/decades, had visions for products that didn’t exist before, and have a lot of entrepreneurship experience. even though Meghan is very eloquent and an accomplished interviewer, I don’t think it is fair how she compares her entrepreneurial journey (which started not long ago, and whose vision is to sell commoditized products such as jam/petals based solely on her married surname/royal background) to theirs. They are just not on the same league and it is somewhat frustrating to signify otherwise, as she does a lot during the episodes.

It is a confusing statement. Basically, when Harry was told 'no' to being provided free police protection, he asked if he could pay for it. He was told no again (people can't just buy police protection), so he appealed to another judge who upheld the ruling of the first judge, Harry can't buy the Met Police.

The Royal Household represented Harry's position, which I understand now he thinks was a mistake, so he sued. Now the latest judge has agreed with the other two judges.

The question of him paying for protection wasn't ignored, it was answered at least twice. He didn't like the answer so he sued.
And now it is VERY clear that he knew in 2020 about his security, that the royal powers that be tried to get it for him and could not and now we know that he has misrepresented the truth and lied for years about this. How old is this guy???

A number of us have known from the Oprah interview some even earlier that many things that they have both said are open to interpretation, I am trying to be polite in my use of language. As his dear grand mother said recollection s may vary.

Overexposure has been the kiss of death for many celebrities.

It’s not specifically anti-Harry. It’s described as a Royal Family satire and speaks of countless scandals being swept under the carpet, and the QM smelling of gin and other spirits, so I wouldn’t say it’s exactly flattering to any members of the BRF.
ā€˜Amidst the backstabbing and sycophancy, he (Harry) learns the arts of Tax Fraud and Evasion and Deference Towards the Monarchs…’

Plus, as it’s being sold at around three dollars a pop this saga is probably extremely unfunny as well.

It may well be a rip off of Harry Potter. I loved those books!
Harry/ Meghan haven't sued any author ever, about anything. The media is another matter. And they probably don’t even know about this rubbish. Prince Philip as Snape?

Hopefully not, the last thing they need is a frivolous lawsuit when they are still paying off the other business!

The fact they haven’t is interesting in itself, it tells you a great deal, well it does me anyway.
As for suing the media well Harry said he was doing that to help others who were not in a position to do so. I am not sure if he exactly said life’s work but he took the money anyway and didn’t follow it through to the end.
