Prince Harry was in Las Vegas to participate in the Diana Award, the only award to be founded in Diana’s name. It was on Archie’s sixth birthday but apparently there was a birthday party held in Montecito the weekend before.

At the event, Harry took part in a discussion hosted by two Diana Legacy Award recipients — Sikander ‘Sonny’ Khan, from Michigan, and Christina Williams from Jamaica. The conversation focused on youth leadership and how employers can proactively create pathways for young people to enter and thrive in the workplace.

In my opinion, there are very few well-known figures who can sustain a long-term public profile that involves many television appearances, interviews, searing accusations, tell-all books and controversial spouses. I can think of only one. TV host Johnny Carson.

Johnny had that great on-air personality which overcame any obstacles. He was one of the few media people that the public did not tire of. And in his day, they didn't call it "media". His personal history was not enviable, there were issues. Yet, Americans loved him and tuned in for decades.

Harry has to realize that he does not have that charm and wit. Being angry at England doesn't help him here. His shelf life as a media "get" is ending. The more he pontificates in public forums, the more he exposes his bad side.

It shows that working people can balance their childs birthday with working events, just like millions of people all over the world have to do. Whether it be your fathers coronation , the first for 70 years, or a speaking event in memory of your late mother. Child, life work balance, everyday challenges for lots of people.

A major conservation charity linked to Prince Harry has admitted that human rights abuses were committed by its rangers in Congo-Brazzaville, following an independent review into allegations made by members of the Baka community against African Parks rangers.

So, will Harry finally say something about this? These were grievous allegations against women that need to be addressed.

The article says the BBC has reached out to him for comment. Funny, he's more than ready to trash the courts & his family but doesn't want to talk about his own issues.

However, this scandal and the allegations were made over a year ago. I well remember reading about it. The question is, how much is PH involved in this organization? To say he is somehow connected to it is not much. To be fair, you'd have to know more specifically whether he actually had anything to say in this organization or not.
That is one thing to consider. And yes, on the other hand he could have made a comment about it, since he always was so comited to African issues.
Looks like he is not interested any longer in supporting African problems. Living a life in luxury in California, having a wife who also isn't much interested in real problems, he has been only concentrated of his own personal revenge and frustration problems. There is no room for other things in his life. How very sad.

It's more than a scandal IMO, time does not lessen the huge injustice that was done to these people. Harry sits on the board of directors, he has influence as a public figure, that's why he's there. He can stand up and say something or step down from the board.

I think Harry (and Meghan) are interested in Africa only when it 1) entertains them (playing with wildlife), or 2) promotes their agenda/PR. As ever, they ignore their own issues and hypocritically promote themselves as crusaders for human rights while living in their ivory tower.

So Harry is basically in similar position of influence in African Park as he was in Sentebale. And while there's a big fuss with Sentabele and briefing the media about his resignation from Sentabele, there's nothing (no fuss, no comment) from him about African Park?

More information here, and this article also reiterates that African Parks have refused to allow the findings of the report to be made public.

“We still don’t know the details of what they found, because African Parks has refused to allow the findings to be made public. It has committed to more reports, more staff and more guidelines – but such approaches have not prevented horrific abuses and violations of international human rights law in the decade or more that African Parks has known of these atrocities, and there is no reason to believe they will do so now.”

Omnia, and Africa Parks for whom they carried out the "investigation", have a duty to the Baku people, and to a lesser extent their donors to publish the findings openly . Only by being open can they start to regain trust . Perhaps it is, as well that harry is less and less interested in his African charities, certainly his inactions since leaving his Commonwealth responsibilities have not reflected well upon them . Her late Majesties belief/ hope that he and his wife were capable of leadership roles within it were sadly mistaken . Oh the hypocrisy of that wedding veil . I hope the Baku people get more than a few more reports , and revised procedures .

Article from Oakland's East Bay Times, from Harry's own current home state in California, from 10 hrs. ago. For geographical reference, the city of Oakland is on the other side of the San Francisco Bay so this article is on top of the news within his California circles

Prince Harry’s African charity admits abuses of Indigenous people
Originally Published: May 8, 2025 at 2:28 PM PDT

Excerpt
“There is no place for any form of abuse in the name of conservation, and African Parks is committed to upholding the rights of local communities and indigenous peoples,” the organization also said...While Harry has long rhapsodized about his love for Africa, he has recently come under fire for harboring a 'colonial and racist' approach to philanthropy and conservation in Africa...
...Survival International, a leading human rights group, called on the prince to resign. He didn’t, and Survival International called him out again last year, when he failed to address the abuses during an event he attended in New York City to promote the work of African Parks.

My take and opinion, he needs to come out and expose the abuses committed by staff within the organization in order to detach himself of their actions. Then either close it down for good or establish a new one with a different name and staff because the scandal will follow the old group, and his name, if no formal action is taken by Harry to expose the incidents committed.

It's all up to him now.

The Duchess of Sussex presenting herself as a flower decorator again:

That is such an uninteresting floral arrangement and very amateurish. From fashion to home decor, her love of blah neutral colors is boring and unimaginative.

it isn't that bad, she's just catering to her target audience...and it's a lot more positive and uplifting than the complaining about relatives :flowers:

maybe we need to have a 'say a positive thing about the Sussexes' day here at some point :)

You are right of course Lee-Z, but I was raised among flowers as my family exports them. I simply can not find this nice. Who on earth wants bland flowers? What's the point? Of course the Duchess should get whatever arrangement she likes for her own house, but I find it not aestetically pleasing, any random shop or market stall in our country will have nicer arrangements.

Of course this may be the taste in the USA. And if the Duchess took these flowers from her own garden it is a very different story, as she will have had a more limited choice and it will be nice that she created something with flowers from her own garden.

No problem, to me it looks very natural, very earthy, not as 'chemically enhanced' as official bouquets tend to be nowadays.
I don't think it's necessarily very skillful or artsy, but going with the 'you can do this at home too' vibe, i could see this vibing with her followers

Agreed, it's probably very chic with her followers and bright bouquets are not to everyone's taste. Besides, any day we get to see Guy is a good day. There, I said something nice. :giggle:

Given all the drama from last week's interview and her recent copycat moments, I must say those flowers are a masterpiece by comparison.
Please carry on, Meghan.

I thought Guy had died.
Her flower arrangement looks ready for the Wake and the Memorial Service. The colors she choose are very sad, I wanted her to add those pastel pink ones on the left side of the table to be the highlight.

On a separate note, I like she took good care of her dog Guy always by her side. Sad to hear he passed away.

And I would prefer if Harry was more a part of this Instagram life of hers and allowed to speak a word or two. But, from the interview from last week Meghan listed herself as one-woman production army on these presentations. I don't recall Harry mentioned he is allowed to do a simple task within Archwell.

We have to get used to the idea we'll never see him doing house chores like preparing a table for dinner, changing a light bulb, or at least, opening the door for Meghan to bring in the flower arrangement into the house.
