Not sure how accurate it is but Dan Wootton posted a clip (a lot of foul language, so not reposting it) of Thomas Jr very very angry because apparently the officials who visited Thomas Snr did it on the request of Meghan.
Seems to get permission for her to be updated on him without needing to interact with the half siblings. Seems she found a work around, if true.

If true (and who knows with Wootton though I’m inclined to believe it) that manoeuvre is an excellent plan. There is no love lost between Meghan and her half-siblings at all so there is no need for any contact.

As long as her father is able and willing to speak to the officials, and isn't suffering from any kind of incapacitation due to pain medication, I don't see why her half-siblings need to get involved. Surely, he is entitled to make his own decisions on who he communicates with?

Thomas Markle, at his advanced age, has too many people speaking for him as if he was not sound of mind and capable of speaking on his own. But it could also be these people around him want to control the narrative. It's like that annoying 'friend' we all have, or had, always in your business giving opinions that were not asked for. That seems to be his son and this other guy, too.
On that, I see why Meghan keeps these toxic step-siblings at a safe distance, and yet the manipulation tactics we notice being used are very similar to Princess Harry's own modus operandi. Control the narrative as if your life depended on it.

I have not seen this clip but last week Thomas Jr. posted on his youtube channel a horrible rant against Meghan where he states that she should be spat upon and have excrement thrown at her.
There is no way that Meghan was going to try and go through Samantha or Thomas Jr to get to her father, and I am pretty sure the same applies to Caroline Graham. I guess, understandably, she wants to get directly to her father and found an acceptable means, but I would not rule out that Samantha, Thomas or Caroline will pump him for info and then use it to further their agendas. Nevertheless, if Meghan genuinely wants to connect with and/or monitor her father, she should proceed IMO but with the knowledge that Thomas Sr. himself, and certain people he deals with, are going to act out.

From his body language and out of control hatred for Meghan, a person he didn't grew up with, it shows how vile this guy is. He's bragging about his YouTube channel and it doesn't take a genius to see what he wants is provoke to increase views that will turn into a source of income.
If a relative spoke about me the way he refers about Meghan my reply would be to cut them off for life. No negotiation, no future forgiveness considered. Gone, bye, have a good life and then move on. I see her point of view but I also see this family Harry got embroiled with is so toxic. All of them simmer in a cauldron of envy toward each other.

I completely agree- it’s the sanest and most dignified solution. Meghan’s half siblings have behaved in unforgivable ways, and it’s good she was able to find a way to navigate knowing how her father is without speaking to them.
It seem Meghan has finally been able to make contact with her father.
I have to agree with her about Caroline Graham being attached to him. It is just weird (and of course her peer defends it) but knowing her history with that publication— there is no way she was going to be dealing with any of them.
Of course she was going to find another way that avoided any and all interference.

It is unfortunate that some kind of resolution was not reached in 2018, Thomas Markle has a huge void in his life where Meghan was previously, others have filled that void , not just the journalists , but family as well, then used it to their advantage. He is alone in a hospital bed in a strange country, he is going to look for friendship and support where he can get it. We do not know what advice is being given.
I also understand that Meghan does not want the photographers waiting for her at the hospital, any words she might send to him or discussed with him to appear in the media.
We need to remember as well that the letter she wrote to him he kept private, even lied about it to the media, until Meghans friends revealed that it existed. Yes she technically won her case against the mail, but her friends went public that the letter had been sent.
Thomas wants to see his daughter , the media is all he has left, I do not agree with his tactics but I understand them.
Maybe we should all show him some compassion in all of this, if he was given a chance then blew it by all means cut him off for ever, but has he ever been given a chance.

There is no way I would go anywhere near Thomas knowing a reporter and her vile half brother is by his side. Sounds cruel but sorry. That’s just a set up. You have to protect yourself.

Are we sure he has received a letter? This is when waters get muddied with assumptions made then things get out of hand.

How sad, your spokesperson tells the world that you have tried to contact your father , it sums up the whole situation for me.
Wonder what DM senior journo Caroline Graham, whom Thomas snr apparently has had on speed dial for some time, will do about this letter from Meghan. Will she be questioning Thomas snr about the contents, trying to get a story for the DM out there? I’m expecting her to be trying her best.

Well, if the DM gets an exclusive on the letter Meghan sent her father (presumably handed to him by US consular staff in a sealed envelope) then we will know who is divulging such information. And it won’t be Meghan.

This time Thomas snr has none other than his friend, a senior DM journalist, hanging around his hospital room and the facility. I believe that the majority of people will be able to put two and two together if her words in this private letter appear in the pages of the DM.

I can understand your feelings towards the Markles and the media but please do not let us forget, Netflix documentaries , Spare, Oprah , BBC interviews. Omid Scobie. The friends speaking out.
So let us be even handed here.
But we have been told not to rehash the past. And it isn’t Spare etc we are discussing here, but Meghan and her father and attempts to get in touch. And her father’s close ongoing relationship with a journalist employed by the DM, a rag which was successfully sued by Meghan.
Plus the behaviour of her half-siblings, Samantha’s accusations of BS, Tom jnr’s foul-mouthed rants on Dan Wootton programme and his encouragement to have the public throw excrement at his half sibling. Is any of that admirable?

A question: Was it ever disclosed whom Meghan Markle chose as her sponsors (godparents) when she was baptized in the Church of England prior to her wedding? Church of England rules require at least two and preferably three sponsors.

I think she‘s not the first person with relatives who talked to the media and she won‘t be the last. My advice would be to just not engage. In other cases it might be possible not to cut off family members completely and to find a way to stay in touch in a different way. But in any case I think it‘s better if someone is able to accept, that sometimes people are not behaving how we would like. I don‘t expect that she shared secrets with them recently anyway, so I don‘t understand why we need to know if a letter was sent or not.
