The duchess was due to attend the Night of Wonder gala in LA last night, the event was postponed given the Civil unrest in LA.
Meghan Markle forced to cancel major event - details
When I clicked on the article above the first lines say
"...In an unexpected turn of events, Meghan Markle has been forced to put her public duties on hold, after a high-profile event set to honour her achievements was postponed due to civil unrest in Los Angeles.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was due to be the guest of honour at the prestigious Night of Wonder gala, hosted by the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC), on Saturday 14 June. The glamorous evening was set to celebrate Meghan’s ongoing work to uplift women and underserved communities..."
And, no surprise here,
when you click on that link line inside of the article that says
to celebrate Meghan’s ongoing work to uplift women and underserved communities it takes to the article where she celebrates, per headline:
"Princess Lilibet just wore 2025's cool-girl colour - just like Meghan Markle/Prince Harry's daughter looks adorable in butter yellow..."
Okay. So we get that she
uplifts women and underserved communities by dressing up her kid in
cool-girl colors. The magazine needs to improve their key lines with matching articles and not imply adorable dress colors are what uplifts underserved communities. The LA riots and the social issues behind them was a great opportunity for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to do a Diana Prince of Wales moment and get the media's attention to the problem of uplifting communities in LA.
Hint for the Duchess: people in California come to the country for opportunities, but alongside them are members of the cartels and gangs that exploit them. Meghan could have made a stand last night with the press and ask for some sort of peace, for people on both sides to tone the violence down and explain victims of gangs ad cartels are being mistaken for their victimizers. That would have gotten Meghan in all news today as a spoke person for
women and underserved communities.
Such a missed opportunity for a celebrity to speak up, without taking sides, and step in to be a voice for the immigrants in LA exploited by gangs and now caught in the middle. But cool-girl colors to uplift our spirits will do fine now. I wonder if the event is scheduled for another week she would event mention the reason behind the riots that cancelled her big night this week.
