Nice that we also go to see the Duchess. But sadly she doesn't look well
Was just thinking the same regarding Princess Alexandra. That's lovely but sad to see the Duchess in a wheelchair and Princess Alexandra not there at all. Wren house is pretty big, bigger that I had thought it was.
She is indeed a rare sight nowdays but she attended a concert at St James’ Palace last year with her charity ”Future Talent”What a wonderful occasion! Many happy returns to Steady Eddie.
Great to see the Duchess too. Her first public appearance since Wimbledon 2018?
Duke of Kent delivers moving speech as he represents King Charles in GermanyI wish there was video of the Duke's speech in German. I was unaware, but not surprised that he speaks it.
Yes, I KNOW. I want to see a VIDEO of this speech. You seem to have misunderstood my post.Duke of Kent delivers moving speech as he represents King Charles in Germany
The article stated: "In a speech in German, The Duke said"
In 1970, the Duke of Kent commanded a squadron of his regiment in Cyprus as part of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. During the early 1970s, the Duke also served briefly in Northern Ireland with his regiment. Although those were not combat situations such as in the Falklands or Afghanistan, they were certainly operational deployments with a considerable associated risk.Well, to be fair, there haven't been a lot of opportunities for them to do so. Which is a good thing. Prince Harry flew Apache helicopters in Afghanistan and his uncle Andrew served in the Falklands, both of which were potentially disastrous for the BRF because in Andrew's case, Prince William hadn't been born yet, and I don't think Prince George had been born yet, either. Which means they were the heirs to the heir, at least for a short while.
King Frederik of Denmark has had extensive military training and is a Frogman in the Royal Navy, but if Denmark ever goes to war, do you think he'll be aboard ship somewhere? The days of royalty/monarchs serving in battle are long, long gone.
