The Duchess of Gloucester Jewellery

I almost cried when I saw her using that masterpiece of a tiara again!

Lovely to see the Indian tiara on the Duchess, such an interesting piece! I can't place the pendant of the necklace, does anybody know more?

It's an amazing piece. Fit for a Queen regnant. I hope it can always be in the Crown Collection or be carefully looked after in some way. It seems the pieces she has are unusual and historic. Quite a serious responsibility to look after this with all the other things passed on from the previous generation.

The necklace looks very old. To me, who knows nothing really about jewels, it looks more 18th or 19th century 'old rose cut' which is the biz. I can't stand seeing modern Diamonds at the auction Houses or wherever that look like they've been cut and polished to within an inch of their lives and probably lost half their weight or nearly in the process. They all look like crystal to me :nonono:. The old cuts allow you to see the stone better - they won't tell you that on Bond Street! 😜

Wow! So excited to see this beautiful tiara. It looks fabulous on her.

The Duchess looked fantastic, and her jewels, especially the unique tiara were the highlight of this occasion for me.

It looks like she is using diamond floral elements as buttons on her clothing.

The Duchess of Gloucester also wore some diamond clips on her back during the banquet.

Not just that but her necklace with the drops and emerald earrings and emerald brooch are superb. I especially love the diamond brooch above the orders, what an interesting design, quite art deco.

Birgitte always bring some glamour to these events. Love her jewellery. She is the British royal family 2024 Queen Mary.

The duchess of Gloucester looked superb all the jewels worked nicely together!
I noticed that the duchess has 2 RF Orders ,well deserved on both!

Tiara, earrings, necklace and TWO brooches, just love DoG having no hesitation on showing off a full set of jewels.

I actually hate the combination of the emerald pendants hanging off the pearl necklace. I think it looks clunky and not at all chic. Everything else is perfect, but not that. And she has several lovely diamond and emerald necklaces she could have worn instead.

Yes, I wasn’t too thrilled with the way the drops were hooked on the pearl necklace either. But I was so happy to see the drops and the brooch I let it go

I agree, the emerald pendants did not really work very well on the lovely pearl collier.

The Gloucester collection is impressive - far bigger than some of the royal houses of Europe.
We can only hope that the current Duke and Duchess can return these jewels to the main vaults otherwise they will probably have to be sold off by their children to pay for death duties and these historic pieces lost

These jewels must be worth a fortune so I don't see the Gloucester kids just handing them to the royal collection. There will be an auction, no doubt, when their parents pass.
