Thank goodness she didn't wear ankle socks with her heels ... even though it is supposed to be "high fashion". :)

I thought Catherine looked good when she was working out with the team. I don't like tight jeans because I think they are very uncomfortable and I don't think anyone needs to wear something that tight in public unless they are speedskaters and such in competition. I liked the blazer and scarf but didn't think the combination went with the jeans. If she had worn the ballet flats with the outfit she would have been fine but when she added the heels from the waist down she brought to mind Julia Roberts character from "Pretty Woman".

I liked the grey dress with the black detailing. Sitting here in 80+ degree weather, it did seem a bit warm, but I guess it is a bit cooler in the UK.

The grey dress per se is lovely. A different hairstyle would have been a better choice.

The grey dress is great.Perfect choice.
Her hair looks healthy but I am fed-up with her hair style.
Why doesn't she vary sometimes:a poney tail,a bun

The other outfit looked nice minus the high heels.Flats could be good with it.
I loved the top part though.

I agree with the last post, flat pumps would have made all the difference, heels just don't look right with those jeans.

I'm afraid to make a comment....

LOL! Oh go on Kitty, you have to say something!! ;)

I liked Catherine's sport outfit with the trainers, but not with the black shoes.

I like the grey dress alot...this style is lovely and suits her very well, I think. However, a nice sparkling diamond brooch would have been good against the grey.

Please, Kitty! I love your comments. Surely there's nothing too objectionable about the grey dress?

Maybe it's the fire-engine red jeans with heels that Kitty objects to!

Beautiful dress, perfection IMO.

I think some people who come to these threads should actually be in fan only Catherine sites. This is a fashion thread people don't have love everything she wears. Everyone has their own tastes; that's the beauty of discussion forum such as these. I really think Catherine is lovely and dresses well but that doesn't mean
I like everything she wears. This is fashion thread; it's totally not that serious a discussion to be so bent out of shape over criticism.

You may not have any ill will, but I've seen some comments and commenters who really do come across jealous or at least make comments that are a bit rude so. There are people I think take it way too far so. You can dislike something, but when it gets personal then that's another matter. In short, I disagree with you. Some people need to learn to be more respectful in their comments.

Anyways, I really like both outfits today. I loved the red or salmon skinny jeans and the dress was beautiful.

First outfit is good from waist to head, nice to see Kate with official Olympic scarf. I like the colors, but I would change two things - heels to flat shoes and make something with hair, I know that she wasn't playing any serious game but hair-up would be more practical.
Second one is typical Kate - simple dress is rather drab color (I want see more colorful outfits), simple accessories, strong make-up and loose hair. I would make this dress little longer, skirt would be more fuller and look better. Kate's hair really made me angry. She wore dress with nice detail around the neck but her locks covered it totally.

Lots of grey from Kate lately! Wonder if she's sending a "50 Shades of Grey" message to Wills. LOL. That said, I liked the look. I'm growing accustomed to her lack of accessorising, and while I don't like it, I am resigned to that being a part of her look. Maybe when she moves up a rung on the "firm" ladder, she'll start wearing more jewelry.

Not a huge fan of the jeans, I found them a little too short and really disliked the heels with them. I liked the hoodie, though!

LOL! Nice book reference. I wish she'd wear more jewelry too, but she usually does more casual engagements. Maybe we'll get some fancier Diamond Jubilee events.

I liked both her looks today- thought she looked occasion appropriate.

I think Kate looks good in her blazer and pink pants (they look like jeans in some pictures). I don't get the problem with her wearing heels, the jeans with heels look is very fashionable right now; I only think the look works if the pants are indeed jeans and not sweat pants like others have said. I also will say that the pictures of her playing soccer once and for all put a nail in the "she's too skinny" coffin. Thighs like those do not belong to a person who is too skinny; you can see the muscle moving beneath the pants.
As for the grey dress, it might become my #1 of Kate's outfits this year, taking the place of the bluish green outfit she wore with the queen last week. I love that dress, everything about it. I will say that despite the fact that there was no wind accident this time, I PRAY that Kate has finally learned to put freakin weights in her skirts.
And about the hair, how long until people learn to finally get over it! Seriously?! Is it going to take 2 years, 5years, 10 years, for people to grasp and move on from the fact that Kate prefers to wear her freakin hair down!?

Kate wore a lovely grey dress for the visit to The Prince's Foundation for Children and The Arts at Dulwich Picture Gallery with Prince Charles and Camilla.
I love this dress! It's really elegant with interesting details (the neckline). The shoes and bag go nicely with the look as well.
Now THIS was a fashion win for me. :)
I love it! What an interesting neckline!

Beautifully done - especially given that she co-ordinated with Charles - that's also what makes it smashing. Accessories are 'just right'. She complements him - and the result is that they both look good and you are drawn to look at her. Hair obscures the design - being conservative in some respects around decoration I could have done without that and had jewelry - but it was fine.

a lovely grey dress

I really like the grey dress. Perfect.:flowers: I'm not a fan of brightly-coloured pants, but I did like the super-sharp black blazer that Kate wore with them. Not a fan of high heels with ankle pants in general, particularly those very high, dressy heels worn with skinny pants. I think that the red colour was perhaps thought up to match the shorts on the players.

Surely if her locks covered it toally none of us would have realised the lovely embroidery on the bodice. ;)

I love her hair down, and obviously so does she and I suspect so does her husband. When I was (much) younger I had hair that long and wearing it up was sooo fiddly. I think Princess Anne put her hair up in 1974 and its been there ever since. Time enough for Catherine to go down that route.

Yeah, Kate had a bit of an air hostess look while visiting the GB field hockey team in London today....

It tends to be those who are big fans of other royal ladies who take issue with everything Kate wears. That's where I think jealousy comes into it - Kate gets more press attention than probably all other female royals combined at the moment.
I think most of us are mature to leave it to the "other royal ladies to take issue, exhibit jealousy, etc" on their own behalf. We just seriously like or dislike what Kate happens to be wearing. Today's "Hockey" outfit was, IMO, just yuck! :argh:

It will take until as long as it takes for people to stop getting the screaming irrits everytime they see it like that! :whistling:

Oh, I do love the grey dress. Totally makes up for the outfit earlier in the day. Very, very elegant and classy, but simple too.
Amen to that. I think this dress looks lovely and the fuller and slightly longer skirt is very flattering. I wouldn't toss her shoes and bag in the bin either! :flowers:

I have a question the team gb hoodie she changed into is that for sale? I looked on the net for it but can't find it anywhere.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd love to get my hands on that and the scarf.

I think she looks good. The dress fits well & the detailing in black is quite nice. I just wish she would wear her hair up with some outfits like this which her hair is covering most of the detailing.

The trousers are horrible. They look like chavy jogging trousers some people wear to drop their kids at school just after getting out of bed.

I dont mind the colour and it would have been ok if it were skinny jeans or some kind of quality pants - its ok to be sporty but she looks like a Hockey Mum.

Then the 'chavs' in your area where really expensive trousers! Like EIIR said, a real chav wears name branded joggers to drop the kids off or there pj's. Also, is it wrong to look like a "hockey mum"?

Actually, I'd call them sweatpants and I wish she wouldn't wear them.

They're jeans, which are far removed from sweatpants.

I guess I'm alone because I really like this outfit. The red jeans are cute and I thought her outfit really fit the occasion.

You're not alone, I for one love the outfit! Love the mix of colours, it was perfect for the event and she added personally touches like the scarf. I'd change the heels though.

I don't mind the dress, but grey washes her out. Her earlier outfit shows she's not afraid to wear colour, so maybe on official engagements she purposely dresses older.

Not sure if, like they say, the first impression is always the most genuine one, but when I first saw the outfit with the leggins paired with heels my reaction was: YUCK! Now, such tight trousers rarely look wonderful IMO. No matter how toned or skinny your body is, it's always a bit risky. The combo of such tight trousers and heels is awful. It does look a tad tacky. I agree that flats, ballerinas especially, would have made the difference. Other than that I loved the blazer and the scarf, looked classy together and I see that the trousers might have been useful for playing hockey. The color of the trousers is actually pretty as well.

The grey dress is very pretty. It has a nice cut and makes Kate look more feminine. I even like the detail on the neckline.

Catherine looks good with the grey dress. Nice style, I like the details on the neckline and the lenght of the sleeves.

She looks like a young girl...not a married wife ;-))) but she indeed is a young girl, I love the dress, I love the whole look, she looks lovely, love the dress....

People are constantly complaining about Kate's hair; she doesn't vary it enough, etc., etc.

But how many other royal ladies ever change their hairstyle?
Starting with the Queen, there's Anne, Camilla, Sophie, Beatrice, Eugenie, who are always the same!
But only Kate gets the criticism, and she varies her hair more than anyone.

None of those ladies you mentioned have their hair constantely in the face, are fiddling with it or hiding behind it - and none of those ladies have such long hair, what is the point of having long hair when having it hang down all the time, playing with it.
