The Death and Funeral of Pope Francis

Yes that is unfortunate. Seems that Vatican has a history of putting papal funerals on dates where other royal Events are taking place.
Yes the April 2005 wedding of the Prince of Wales and Camilla.

It's not like they had much choice. A papal funeral has to take place 4 to 6 days after the Pope's death. Francis died on the 21st, so the possible dates were April 25,26 and 27. The 25th is a National holiday in Italy (anniversary of the Liberation- end of WW2- 80 years this year), and the 27th is a Sunday. Saturday was basically the only possible choice

And even without the national holiday on Friday, Saturday is the more "convenient" day for everyone else (either in Rome or at home) to attend/watch the funeral.

And the Italian police will be happy about every additional day to prepare too.

The King and Queen of Sweden and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday.

Hereditary Prince Alois and Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein have confirmed their attendance at Pope Francis' funeral.

Prince Emmanuele Filibert of Savoy will attend Pope Francis' funeral next Saturday.

Deeply moving service this morning when the open coffin of Pope Francis was transfered from Casa Santa Marta to St Peters Basilica to lie in state for 3 days.

It is interesting how the cameras cut to some of the well-known potential papal candidates. I don't know if that was intentional or if it was just because of where they were seated.

Last night in Irish TV an Irish nun based at the Vatican told how Pope Francis looked after the homeless of Rome.
The Pope had the 17th century ,Palazzo Migliori turned into a homeless shelter ,he also had toilets, shower rooms and a free launderette installed.
He held an annual Christmas party at the Palazzo Migliori for the homeless and did this out of the limelight.

Some of the most mentioned possible names (like Cardinal Parolin, Cardinal Tagle and Cardinal Prevost) belongs to the Cardinal-Bishop’s, the highest of the 3 categories of cardinals, that always sits in the front before the Cardinal-Priests and Cardinal-Deacons, so they are often visible.

President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will attend Pope Francis’ funeral.

Going back to a previous question I asked, I wonder if the House of Savoy or other non-reigning royal houses get a separate invitation from the Vatican to attend the funeral (similarly to the heads of state of sovereign countries with which the Holy See has diplomatic relations) , or if Emanuele Filiberto is attending on a personal capacity only (as any ordinary member of the public) without being specifically invited.

No word yet from Denmark? I understand that the King is out of the country, but certainly the Queen could attend.

Yes indeed there's a Papal order of Precedence :
The Pope -
Patriarchs
The Major Archbishops
The Cardinal Bishops
The Cardinal-Presbyters
The Cardinal-deacons
The Primates
Titular Patriarchs
Archbishops
Bishops

The Pope is the Head of State of the Vatican.

The Princely Palace today confirmed the attendance of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene at the funeral:

The Palace in Monaco hardly ever confirm in advance the attendance of the Princely couple at big events, so it's good to know they will be there. I wonder if the Princess and the other Catholic consorts will don their Privilege du Blanc or will they be in black for this because it is a funeral.

The Privilege du Blanc is only worn for a formal audience with the living Pope not at his funeral.
Queen Sofia and Queen Paola all wore black at the Funeral of Pope John Paul II in 2005.

No Denmark has not said anything so far regarding an eventual attendance on Saturday.

White is a traditional royal color of mourning, so I don't necessarily see a conflict.

Having said that, they wore black at Pope John Paul II's funeral back in 2005.

Has the Jordanian Royal House announced if they are sending a representative? The King and Queen were present at the funeral for Pope John Paul II in 2005.

Queen Mary of Denmark will attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday, the danish royal court has confirmed.

Yes, because King Frederik will be doing a, for DK, very important visit to Japan and then straight to Greenland. Christian is perhaps a little too green for such an attendance, so Queen Mary is just right.

I figured that given the time difference, travel time and the start time of the King's last event in Japan that it would be way too tight of a schedule for him to make it to the Pope's funeral. So, having the Queen attend and represent the King and DRF is appropriate.
