"The King held the regular chapter of the Order
On April 9, the ordinary chapter of the order was held under the chairmanship of the King at the Royal Palace.
Since the previous chapter of the order, a new foreign and a new Swedish knight of the Royal Order of the Seraphim have been appointed: HM Queen Mary of Denmark with registration number 890 and Princess Ines with registration number 891."

"During the meeting, the Royal Coat of Arms Painter presented the newly painted Seraphim shield to the Queen of Denmark, who was appointed a Seraphim Knight in connection with the Danish state visit to Sweden on May 6, 2024."
Thank you for posting...what a beautiful painting of Queen Mary's Seraphim shield! I believe that by receiving the Order of the Seraphim, she now has the highest orders of all the Nordic countries.

The Royal Orders has released a website Kungl. Maj:ts Orden

The website contains some new information and pictures. For instance are The Statutes of the Orders published. It is also confirmed women will become Knights, bot members (that is new appointments as of 2023). [...]

The King chaired today a Regular Chapter of the Royal Orders of Knighthood at the Royal Palace.
Since the previous chapter of the order, one new foreign and one new Swedish knight of the Royal Order of the Seraphim have been appointed: H.M. Queen Mary of Denmark with matriculation number 890 and Princess Ines with matriculation number 891.
The Royal Coat of Arms painter presented the newly painted Coat of Arms of the Order of the Seraphim to the Queen of Denmark.

So, Princess Ines is the first female member of the royal family to become a (Swedish) knight?

I wonder why the decision that females would also be knights was only applied going forward; why not make the existing female members of orders knights as well?

The Royal Orders of Knighthood are today being conferred on around 20 Swedes or persons residing in Sweden for exceptional contributions in a variety of areas and at different levels – internationally, nationally, regionally and locally. The recipients of the Order have been nominated by the public and authorities. The Government has today endorsed the name proposals and H.M. The King has subsequently made the formal decision to confer the Orders.
A ceremony at the Royal Palace on May 28.

The award to Marie Göranzon is well-deserved and I couldn't be happier. One of our country's finest actresses with an ability to dignify popular culture and humanise the most serious expressions of art.

The King never voluntarily make decisions that change what has been, only going forward.

The Military Cross for Valour of the Royal Order of the Sword is awarded for the first time
The award ceremony will take place during Veterans Day celebrations on May 29 at the Maritime Museum in Stockholm.
In 2023, in connection with the Honours Reform, the War Cross of the Order of the Sword in gold, silver and bronze instituted in 1952 (but never conferred) was changed to the Military Cross of the Order of the Sword in gold, silver and bronze. They are conferred for personal valour in conflict.
