Why didn't the Portuguese President wear the insignia of the Order of the Netherlands Lion? I am not very proficient at Dutch orders, but it looks like he was wearing the sash of the Order of the Crown instead.

It's the newest order from the Netherlands he received. He already received the Netherlands Lion, just as the King and Queen had already received a different Portuguese order during their state visit in 2017. During a state visit, you wear the most recently awarded, even if it isn't the highest honor. This may differ from country to country, but it seems to be the norm with Portugal, in particular with regards to the orders it bestows, because it is so generous with them.

Lovely to see Amalia involved. (..)

The Royal Couple and the Princess of Orange were awarded with the Order of Christ

So from now on will the Princess be involved in all state visits?

She is 21 now, so it is entirely possible that if she will be involved in all state visits.

I suppose it depends if she is going to study abroad later on or not. For now she lives in Amsterdam. These banquets are held there. And they are in the evening, which should be easy to ccombine with her studies.
