I remember when I first saw him and thought, "Well, he's putting his ego aside," or rather, he had no choice.
remember around 2017, people thinking about wheelchairs while the king clung to his cane.
And going back a decade even further he underwent knee surgery + his age, it doesn't surprise me but it does sadden me in the same way as it does my relatives

Great timing with Ingrid-Alexandra finishing her military training and the start of the state visit. Even though she is not the heir yet, it's always great to get your feet wet and start learning.
Im glad she took part not only in the gala but in the welcoming too.

It's good that Ingrid Alexandra will have the time, and the expertise of her mother and grandmother, before she has to shoulder the role of being the First Lady or the Queen in Norway.

I read two Norwegian articles about Princess Astrid, and in one of them she described how she had had to take on the role of First Lady at the age of 22, without much introduction. Her first state visit as hostess was six months after her mother's death, and Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia was very thoughtful to not take the ladies in his entourage with him, when he learned that Astrid was young and inexperienced as a hostess, so that she wouldn't have to arrange a programme for the Ethiopian ladies during the visit.

The President wore her lovely national costume for the return event at Gamle logen, but noone cared, the coverage of day 2 is like zero compared to the first day.

Sadly not much coverage for the final day yesterday, April 10, the Palace added this for the day spent in Trondheim:

And the community of Trondheim shared this:
