That's quite a busy schedule for the Crown Prince!

She will be at the events without press
No, the welcome at the palace square is open for everyone, and alot of press usually. The gala dinner is usually pool photography. The lunch is usually no press.

It will be interisting to see if Ingrid chooses uniform for the welcome ceremony like her father and grand father, or chooses civil clothes. Can be a first sign of what she will do in the future at events where uniforms have usually been worn by the men, like state council and opening of stortinget.

Hope the new policy as we have seen a little lately, will invite for some photos or reels from the luncheon too. And a "summary" reel / video from the receiving line, procession and gala dinner.

Great that Ingrid is taking part in the visit - it was a shame she never took part in the danish state visit in 2024.

Maybe she also is taking part incase Mette-Marit pulls out last minute due her declining health.

Great to see Ingrid Alexandra finally taking part in a state visit.

She will have graduated from the military but not yet started any other education so it is a good time to start practising high profile royal engagements..

She took part in the lunch, unofficially but a photo was released.

Still, looking forward to an official participation from IA

Of course, but I'm referring to moments where Ingrid won't have to answer questions about what we all know. However, I wonder if the press will give her parents a break until the summer.

There are at least a couple more events she could participate in, but it seems the court decided to keep her away. It's curious since she seems to defend herself well.

The president Halla Tòmasdottir and her husband (who Hola calls Primera dama and some british media calls First lady🙃) Björn Skùlason, arrived to Grand hotel inn Oslo this afternoon in a car from the palace (A6) where they were papped by royal historian Trond Noren Isaksen by accident.

The state visit has started!

Wonderful to see Ingrid Alexandra right from the start!

Here are some first photos of today, April 8:

Looks like a beautiful sunny Spring day for the State Visit!

Will Ingrid receive the Icelandic order?

A few observations:

1. I had no idea until today that the president of the Storting is a Middle Eastern man. That says alot about how multicultural Norway has become.

2. The President of Iceland seems to have a sunny and jovial disposition. I like it!

3. I see the King appears to be using a foldable walking cane seat or cane/chair. So now even standing appears to be difficult. The poor King.

The King looks quite unwell and now can hardly walk or stand, it is not usual that everyone is sitting during the welcome ceremony. Even the not so polite press has commented on it

The welcome ceremony was shown live on NRK and was the top news on all newspapers during the day which an state visit from Iceland usually is not, so I hope the court realisere that they need to use Ingrid a litle more to give an image that is not old or sick.

The president is lovely and charming like has been the tradition with the icelandic presidents. She gave Ingrid a wool semester she could use if she would visit iceland and a scarf which she said she got known for during her election campaign.

The social media of kongehuset is not impressive, yes they managed a video but they could have shown some behind the scenes and from the lunch

The miltary shows photos from Akerhus

NRk shows the gala live, scroll down to a face photo of Ingrid
Typically norwegian, the sportsstars looks imacculate compared to what the politicans usually does on the stortingsdinner, though it is lovely to see Johannes Klæbo and the Bø-brothers, no icelandic connection precisly

Sonja wears the emeralds and her Peter Dundas yellow dress, Mette-Marit the amethysts and a new dress, and Ingrid has emptied her jewelbox with her birthday gifts, the tiara, collet necklace, pearl earrings, birthday bracelet and the Victoria and Albert bracelet, a not to fortunate hairdo and her mothers Ole Yde dress from Victorias wedding.

The President og Iceland had to stop her speech because a person at the banquet felt bad and had to be removed, the palace said the person is well again

Part of the Kings speech, big focus on women and that one cant take rights that are won for granted.:

....
This year we mark the 50th anniversary of the UN’s first International Year of Women. In October of that year, in 1975, Icelandic women went on a general strike. They demonstrated against the lack of equality in the workplace. The impatience of Icelandic women laid the foundation for the world’s first democratically elected female head of state to come to power in Iceland in 1980 – namely Vigdis Finnbogadóttir. Her election victory became an inspiration to the rest of the world.

You have a proud legacy to build on, President. A strong and proud people deserve a strong and wise leader – like yourself. I wish you all the best in your continued service to your country.
....
Iceland holds a special place in the hearts of Norwegians. Over the years, there have been many state and official visits between our countries. One of them was historic: In 2004, when this young lady (Princess Ingrid Alexandra) was only five months old, she was with her parents on her very first official visit abroad – to Iceland.

Because of all the good memories she has from this visit, it was only natural that this would be the first state visit she would participate in....

The strong ties between our two countries are thus secured for the future…

Let us conclude by going back again to 1975, to the UN Year of Women – when the Icelandic women’s general strike opened the way and new opportunities for so many women, and helped to improve society for all.

Why is this important today?

Because it reminds us that battles won once are not necessarily won forever. We must stand up for what is worth fighting for, every single day.

We must continue to remind new generations of the battles that have been fought to create as good a society as possible – for as many people as possible. And we must be ready to defend these values again and again.

Tiaras as expected Sonja in the emeralds and a yellow gown she has worn a few times, MM in the amethysts and Ingrid in the pearl Circle and a collet necklace and the light blue gown worn by MM at the swedish royal Wedding 2010

Princess Ingrid Alexandra:

Official Photo:

The Royal Household has just posted a short video of the state banquet on Instagram.

he's been wearing it for at least two years
Let me clarify. It appears the King cannot bear to stand for periods of time and even to take official photos. I went back to the Danish & Finnish state visits last year on both occasions the King was able to stand for official photos and whilst awaiting the arrival of his guests.
His decline is very concerning..even in videos today the Queen appeared to be visibly worried.

He is 88 and has bad knees and heart issues since may years… With his age and his health-history i think its fantastic that he is even able to take part in anything… It says a lot about his work ethic

Great timing with Ingrid-Alexandra finishing her military training and the start of the state visit. Even though she is not the heir yet, it's always great to get your feet wet and start learning.
Im glad she took part not only in the gala but in the welcoming too.

The King's work ethic is great but it is quite sad to see him being so frail.
