the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender
will pay a state visit to the Netherlands from June 9 - June 11, 2026, it was announced today.

At the invitation of His Majesty the King, the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, will pay a state visit to the Netherlands from Tuesday, June 9th to Thursday, June 11th. He will be accompanied by his wife, Elke Büdenbender.​

The state visit confirms the close and multifaceted ties between the two countries, covering political, economic, and cultural and historical aspects. As a neighboring country, Germany is the Netherlands' most important trading partner and an ally in the European Union, the United Nations, and NATO. Conversely, the Netherlands is Germany's third-largest trading partner. During this state visit, the diversity of partnerships, the importance of shared values, and a forward-looking agenda for both countries will be highlighted.​

In July 2021, the Royal Couple paid a state visit to Germany.​
