I think Princess Madeleine will attend the state dinner this evening at Drottningholm Palace.

Is this her first state visit?
And how many state visit has Carl Philip done?

This is the first state visit for both Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine, I have no memory of them when HIM the Emperor of Japan was in Sweden three years ago.

Many years ago the whole family was in the Vatican on a state visit to his HH the Pope, but then Carl Philip and Madeleine were just kids...

Excellent thread! Thanks for the pictures. IMO Madeleine looked very elegant on her first state visit.

I usually love everything that Victoria wears, but I'm not too crazy about the beige/taupe sheath dress she wore to the luncheon. I prefer deeper, richer colours on Victoria such as plum, cranberry or burgundy. Queen Silvia looked spectacular in her very pink evening gown and rose pink suit though. Pink is the hot colour this season for spring. Obviously Her Majesty read her most recent copy of VOGUE!

Does anyone but me feel sorry for these people? What if on the day, one has a headache or cramps, or just doesn't feel like getting dressed up and smiling that day? What a lot of work! It's even more than a regular 9 to 5 job.
