President Stubb’s state visit to the Netherlands to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing comprehensive security

In the morning of Thursday 11 December, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will welcome the presidential couple with a ceremonial reception in Amsterdam. The public can follow the ceremony in front of the Royal Palace on Dam Square at 10.30 local time. As part of the program, President Stubb will later lay a wreath on the National Monument on Dam Square.
After the reception ceremonies, President Stubb will visit the University of Amsterdam, where he will give a lecture on multilateral cooperation and the transformation of world politics, and meet with students.
In the afternoon, the presidential couple and the King and the Queen will explore drone technology and be introduced to the Dutch Ministry of Defence’s Defensity College programme.
The President and the King will also attend a business event to be held at the National Maritime Museum, where President Stubb will give a speech.
The first day of the visit will conclude with a state banquet hosted by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at the Royal Palace.

On Friday 12 December, the programme will continue in The Hague, where the President and King Willem-Alexander will spend the morning getting acquainted with the activities of NATO Communications and Information Agency.
In the Hague, President Stubb will also meet the President of the Senate and the President of the House of Representatives of the States General (the Dutch Parliament), as well as Prime Minister Dick Schoof. Discussions with the Prime Minister will cover current issues related to security in Europe, Russia’s illegal war of aggression in Ukraine, and support for Ukraine.
After this, the President and Prime Minister will be joined by King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Mrs Innes-Stubb for a luncheon at Duivenvoorde Castle.
After the luncheon, President Stubb will meet foreign policy experts at the Clingendael Institute and visit the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Suzanne Innes-Stubb will follow a separate programme in addition to the joint programme of the presidential couple. On Friday, Queen Máxima and she will take part in a round table discussion addressing violence against women.

It will be great for the King and Queen to receive president Stubb, a great friend of Europe and of NATO and a fellow golfer for HM. It seems the visit will only last 1 1/2 day and there is no contra presentation. The events are all in Amsterdam and The Hague. Duivenvoorde castle used to belong to the oldest surviving noble family of Holland, the van Wassenaers/ van Duivenbodes. By inheritance it went to the barons van Schimmelpenninck van der Oye [not to be confused with the counts Schimmelpenninck, who are not old nobility].

President Alexander Stubb in X this morning:

In addition to his state visit, President Stubb will participate in a virtual meeting of the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing on Ukraine via remote connection.
The topics of the meeting are the Coalition's support for Ukraine and the next steps in the peace negotiations. The meeting has been convened by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Due to the remote meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, Stubb will withdraw from the event at the local Defence’s Defensity College earlier than previously announced and will not participate in discussions with the Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade.
However, due to the meeting, it is likely that two interviews with local media will be cancelled.

I've had big problems with logging to the forum, but now I'm here again.
The Finnish press updates news, photos and videos of the state visit here:

Thank you for your warm welcome to the Netherlands, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.

The presidential couple met with students from the Suomi School in Amsterdam, who also got a photo with the couple. The students brought Finnish flags they had drawn themselves, at least one of which was given as a gift to President Stubb himself. There was also a touching moment during the photo shoot when President Stubb took one of the students in his arms so that he could also be seen in the photo.

President Alexander Stubb left Amsterdam in a motorcade for The Hague, where he will participate in a virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing together with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Scholz. The First Lady continues to explore the Ministry of Defense's Defensity program in Amsterdam together with the Royal Couple.

President Stubb is a very busy man, he had just a short press meeting for the Finnish press in The Hague after having attended the virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing together with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof.

Interesting chap, from what I read on Wikipedia

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, the Finnish president and his wife, visited the Amsterdam Drone Laboratory.

I was right when I thought that our First Lady would recycle the evening gown she had on her first state visit, to Sweden, in April 2024.
The gown is designed by Katri Niskanen. Suzanne Innes-Stubb wears earrings and bracelet from Lumoava Jewellery's Maininki-series.

Among the guests are former Finnish footballer Jari Litmanen and his wife Ly Jürgenson-Litmanen. Jari Litmanen played at Ajax Amsterdam in 1992-1999 and 2002-2004.

Yes, I agree. And I like to listen to his interviews to the international media he gives quite often, a lot of them at Youtube to watch.

The second day has started.

Do we know, what kind of medals and orders these are?

I also like our First Lady and her style very much.
The President publishes usually a photo of them taken before the state banquet. He published one this year too:

In Hola!
Suzanne Innes-Stubb, the First Lady of Finland, captivates us with her stunning looks during her visit to the King and Queen of the Netherlands.
Impeccable outfits that have crowned her as a new style icon in the diplomatic field.

Buitenhof had an exclusive interview with Finnish President Alexander Stubb. During his two-day state visit, tensions surrounding Ukraine ran high, and the Finnish president plays a key role in contacts with President Trump.

Former Finnish footballer Jari Litmanen published a photo with his wife and King Willem-Alexander at the state dinner:
