Spain State Visits/Official Visits: General Discussion

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
According to journalist Jose Moreno, there will be two incoming state visits to Spain in November 2025. One of them is most likely from Oman.

However there are some comments that The Princess of Asturias won't participate because those countries are not European monarchies. Is that a real thing? Sounds a bit racist to me.

Very strange. Why not. She is the "only" heir that we have not seen with a tiara yet... And the Spanish state seem to almost never include the monarchy or do state visits. Very boring for us jewellery watchers.

I think if Leonor will not participate it is more because of her military training.
As for no State Visits that has only so in recent years, before there quiet a few outgoing as well as incoming

Yes, I also think that if Leonor doesn't participate, it's because of her military training. But I still have hope that she will participate.:)

A friend in Spain told me it is because this government actually don't like the monarchy at all, and therefore don't want the full state visits. I don't know, but of course it is nice now there will be something.

That sounds like utter social media rubbish and her non attendance would be most likely due to the Princess having Military training.

November 3 to 5 - State visit from Oman.
November 11 to 13 - State Visit to China.
November 25 to 28 - State visit from Germany.
December 10 to 12th - Visit of the President of Portugal. It is not confirmed whether it will be a state visit or an official visit. According to a royal journalist, the President of Portugal wants to make a second state visit to Spain before leaving office. This is not a common occurrence, but Rebelo de Sousa has had a very close relationship with the Royal Family.

Wow, the Spanish King and Queen have quite a busy schedule in November! I hope Leonor takes part in the state banquets (if there is one), if not, at least at the Zarzuela Palace front door welcoming the guests, like the Spanish royals used to do before.

There will be state banquets.

" Also, it is expected that in 2026 the grand premiere of Princess Leonor, who will sign definitive ties with the fourth oldest monarchy in Europe: the first talks that will enhance Leonor's position as heir to the throne of Spain begin "

According to Jose Moreno, there will be an incoming state visit from the fourth oldest monarchy in Europe in 2026 and Leonor will have a debut. Anyone know about the fourth oldest monarchy in Europe? Gosh, this Jose Moreno guy likes riddles so much.

According to Google AI that would be Sweden. Id imagine the UK would be up next to pay a visit to Spain.

If there is a state visit from Portugal, I suspect Leonor might take part. It would make sense for that to be her state visit debut given the proximity between the two countries (she also made a solo official trip to Portugal before).

I don't expect her to attend the Oman and German state banquets, probably using her military training as an excuse.

If she attends and it is a tiara event, we might see her with Letizia's wedding tiara (the Prussian tiara) or Queen Maria Cristina's floral tiara, or maybe she will debut a secret ( not-yet-seen), new birthday gift tiara.

There is a chance also that Queen Sofia will gift her Mellerio Shell tiara directly to Leonor (as Letizia hasn't worn it yet as queen), but I think Leonor would wait for a state visit from a major European monarchy (for example a UK state visit) to debut such a significant diadem.

If the picture he has choosen is meant as a hint, then i suppose he means Sweden as Felipe and Letizia wears the Order of the Seraphim.

That wouldn't be unrealistic, even though I have no idea how trust-worthy AI is on the ranking, it would make sense since Felipe and Letizia paid a state visit to Sweden in 2021. Also, the last Swedish State Visit to Spain was in 1983.

4 upcoming SVs, yay!
BUT not a single tiara event I guess.
Why? I can't possibly imagine why state visits from Germany, Portugal, or Sweden would not be tiara events. I am more cautious about Oman.

The outgoing visit to China will not be a tiara event for sure.

Sorry, Germany yes but i did not include Sweden as not confirmed yet. Portugal still unclear re nature of the visit. But Oman and China definitely no tiara.

Since the Sultan of Oman is traveling alone, Queen Letizia may wear a tiara as Queen Sofia did during the visit of the previous sultan or the King of Saudi Arabia or how she would do it if the sultan's wife was wearing a tiara.

Qatar has been the exception, but probably out of courtesy because the emir's wife is a royal lady who does not wear a tiara and in Mozah's case she used to go with her head covered.
