Anne did marry Henry I and serve as regent for their son Philip I, but there were previous Frankish consorts who also served as regents. Richilde of Provence (wife of Charles the Bald) and Gerberga of Saxony (wife of Louis IV) served in 877 and 954-9 respectively.
