Has anyone heard of Seborga, where the prince is democratically elected?

I feel like I'm traveling through time here in the Royal Forums. The above post was from Sept 5th 2005, I recall I stopped posting and/or visiting the RFs around 2007. Today is May 15, 2025 so my reaction is twenty years late but as the saying goes, better late than never!
I have never heard of Seborga until today and it was because I was doing a research on the kingdom of Araucania on another thread and, as often happens, one article took me to another one and the mention of Seborga was there.
That's why I love the Royal Forums, is not just about current royal news but when you least expect it, the Forum can take you to a deep dive into history and learn new things either for acquiring knowledge about the world around us, or just for the fun of trivia.
So far, Seborga is a real place with a real history and legalities that make it an amazing story to tell. It's like that town that people forgot about, with its own characteristics. And for the principality of Seborga, just because it's a micro nation doesn't mean they want nor intend to be forgotten or taken for granted.
The government is an elected principality and if they get a sort of Monaco style independence it will make them the 3rd smallest country in the world. And they do have the legal records, well more like how history omitted them out of treaties, to support their claims. Plus, a movie is being made about this tiny nation state that will help them get more attention and tourism.
Seborga - Wikipedia
The current ruler is Princess Nina Menegatto and her style is Her Serene Highness. Interesting to say the first elected prince, Giorgio I's style was
His Tremendousness (Sua Tremendità)
Highness.
