I am truly shocked by the official confirmed list, it seems Prince Albert will be absent, instead Monaco will be represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Isabelle Berro-Amadeï.

I'm not shocked about Prince Albert not attending as the celebrations of St. Devote are a major occasion in Monaco and the dates clash. I would, however, have expected Princess Caroline to have attended as she is a working royal in the Principality and it is an event where I feel a member of the family should have shown up to.

The Holocaust Remembrance Day is every year a very important day in Sweden with the members of the Royal Family attending in many events, this year:
Prince Daniel
- Attendance at the awarding of scholarships in the Micael Bindefeld´s Foundation in memory of the Holocaust
- Attendance at the memorial service for the victims of the Holocaust, the Great Synagogue in Stockholm
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia
- Attendance at a memorial ceremony for Holocaust victims, Eric Ericson Hall in Stockholm

Holocaust survivors, the head of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and the Chief Rabbi of the Commonwealth have all spoken this morning about how important it is that the King and the Prince of Wales are taking part in today's events, because it shows how important remembrance is, and that it's something affecting the whole of society. The same goes for every other country being represented by a head of state or other senior official today.

It's also being reported that Catherine will accompany William to tonight's service in London.

I was born in Poland and while I can't speak for everyone there I personally think that the presence of a princess(albeit by marriage) from a royal family with Nazi connections is not appropriate. I think Albert would have been criticized for sending her as his representative.

There are many Royals with Nazis connections whether as members of the Hitler Youth or in the Nazi Party.
Prince Bernhard and Prince Claus both -So should the Dutch RF not attend?
Queen Silvia of Sweden father - So should the Swedish RF not attend?

Its totally unfair to pass that blame onto their spouses or children/grandchildren.
The Princess of Hanover also has not been seen with her estranged husband in well over a decade if not more.

There were many Jews from Monaco who were saved by Louis II from deportation and given false identity papers to keep them safe..
