Royals in Costume

In the spirit of Halloween, here is a special thread of royals in costume, from the simple to the grand.

Guests to King Gustav and Queen Silvia's 25th wedding anniversary were asked to don period costumes, and what a step back in time the party was! Here, the King and Queen, their daughters Victoria and Madeleine and Princess Lillian pose in their lovely costumes.

Grace, the actress and the princess, in order:

1. Grace Kelly & Alfred Hitchcock On Set: Producer-director Alfred Hitchcock studies sketches of a scene for Paramount's "To Catch a Thief," while lovely Grace Kelly, who stars with Cary Grant in the VistaVision picture, looks on. Photograph circa 1955.

2. Portrait of Grace Kelly: Belle Of The Ball. Monte Carlo: It's none other than Princess Grace of Monaco dressed as a belle with plumes in her hair. The Princess, former actress Grace Kelly, was attending a 1900's Masquerade Ball,
the first to ever be held in a gambling hall casino here.

3. Sophia Loren and Princess Grace Chatting: Monaco: Sophia Loren and Princess Grace of Monaco attended March 15 the evening gala here in connection with the inauguration of the "Hall of the Americas" for which everyone had to wear a "typical head". The gala was called, "Dinner of the heads."

Elizabeth played male roles, but I think she could have sounded a bit odd, with her voice....

I wonder how was she dressed at William's birthday party, but I'm afraid we'll never know. :(

Here she's performing a (female) role in Old Mother Riding Boots, December 1944.

Great pictures. I love the ones of P Grace and the Swedish Royal family. As for P Harry's faux pas,I'm sure that's one he would love to forget.

Hey, Hey!

It's sunday, it's beautiful weather but you can't sit in the sun all the time. So I have decided to surf on TRF and look what's new.
I noticed that there is no thread about the masquerade(do not know if this is the right word) of the royals and I think it is a good idea to open this thread were we can post pics of royals in masquerade.

Here are pictures of the royals from the silver wedding of King Carl Gustaf and
Queen Silvia. They had a motto and almost everyone wear historic gowns:

Do not find any other picture in the moment, but I think we will find more in time.
