Both of Claire's looks are great but I prefer her daytime dress to her evening dress. I don't think she looks too casual. Her outfit gives off a very 1930s vibe, especially with that hat.

Tessy's daytime look is lovely but I find her hat a little on the large side. Her evening look is nice.

I like the colour of Alexandra's daytime look but am not so sure if I like the design and style of the dress or not. I do know that I prefer her evening look though. Her daytime look has quite a 1920s vibe to it, so with Claire's daytime look it makes me wonder if there was some kind of vintage theme going on (unintentionally or purposefully).

I very much doubt that the necklace is made of actual rubies and diamonds. Still probably more expensive than what most of us would be able to afford but not the real deal.
 
The best: Maria-Teresa elegant , Tessy beautiful but i don't like very much the belt.
The worst: Alexandra this is for old ladies, Claire what she thinking?

I think Maria Teresa and Alexandra wore the best outfits at Grand Duke Jean's birthday celebrations. Maria Teresa looks nice and sophisticated in her suit and I think Alexandra's outfit looks beautiful.

I don't often use such strong words, but I thought that Claire looked awful. I agree that her dress seems cheap... it's the shiny, plasticy appearance that does it for me.

Tessy looks okay but I'm not a fan of the bottom of her dress as it comes across as ripped.

Euh... I am not aware of any European country where wearing fur is illegal. Which ones then? And what is the next step? Leather coats, bags, accessoires, shoes, gloves, car interiors, sofas, etc.? Seeing the fashion of last winter: coats with a fur-trimmed capuchon, I think fur is allowed in every European country.

There is a major difference between leather, which the animals are being raised for meat and the leather is a by-product, and the often inhumane hunting and farming practices for fur. People who have problem with fur have the same issue with hunting trophies. The killing of an animal for no other purpose but pure vanity. BTW, most 'fur trims' nowadays are faux.

As for European countries that have laws: Austria, the UK and Croatia have banned fur farming,and the Netherlands has for chinchilla and fox, and are working on mink. There is a current movement in Finland pushing for it. Sweden and Switzerland have very serious laws and regulations in place.

Uhm... it was just a simple question I asked out of sheer curiosity. :ermm: I live in the UK and as Countessmeout has mentioned, fur farming is illegal here, and wearing real fur is a controversial topic. As I've said, I was simply curious about it's usage elsewhere in Europe. That is all.

I was the original poster who asked the question about fur, so I appreciate you for answering in a more helpful way. :)

It does come across as vintage/old to me - I think it's likely that you're correct.

GD Maria Teresa and Princess Tessy at the forum on learning disabilities on Jan 30th. I liked Tessy's outfit from afar (minus the brown purse and shoes), but the wrinkly shirt didn't tuck into the skirt properly on close ups.

I'm not a fan of this outfit personally though it suits Maria Teresa well.
 
This outfit adds pounds and pounds to her !!!! Even a slim person would hesitate before wearing this kind of .....hor.....I mean thing !
 
i agree that it adds pounds on maria teresa. that jacket isn't easy to wear...
 
I think the photo of GD Maria Teresa might have looked better had she had the model's arrangement of the jacket (asymmetrical, slightly open, only one facing of the lapel showing), and her angle to the camera.
 
I think she liked the coat and wore it , she seems secure in herself and in her body. She obviously knew it would make her look bigger and didn't mind.

Maria Teresa looked nice in both outfits, although I'm not so sure about her brooch with the second one.
 
 
Claire was very understated and elegant and regal at the Pope audience - best dressed of the princesses. Though Alexandra and Tessy were also very appropriate for the occasion as well and nicely dressed
 
Was disappointed that the Grand Duchess didn't wear a mantilla,Princess Claire was the best dressed,HGD Stéphanie's dress could have been a bit longer.
 
I do not understand why GD does not wear a vale. And what a faux-pas for Stephanie such a short skirt
