We have an inflation of royal highness:
-descendants of old boyar families;
-Mr. Lambrino and his family;
-Mr. Biarneix;
-Descendants of king Michael who were given, taken, given, taken titles based on the mood of the head of the household;
-Mr Radu of Romania (Radu Duda, Radu Hohenzollern-Veringen, Radu Al Romaniei-Duda, Radu Al Romaniei).


A good reminder is that in the royal constitution of 1923 nobility titles were forbidden (art 10). And that the powers of the head of the state were limited to those written in the Constitution (art 91).

That the daughters of Michael von Hohenzollern, King of Romania, and of Anne de Bourbon de Parme are HRH and princesses of the blood royal is standing practice as well.

That the male spouses of junior princesses are no HRH and Prince is standing practice as well.

None of the grandchildren of King Michael is a HRH or a Prince (Princess) at this moment.

So that leaves Mr Biarneix as the occasional fantast. Mr Lambrino has a few valid points but when using a title also he is in a fantasy.

All by all the number of HRH's in Romania is very limited.
 
:previous: I thought this thread was about the Royal Family of Romania not the former husband of Princess Sophie, Alain Biarneix (m.1998 div. 2002) divorced over 18 years ago. I see, he seeped through the cracks after a picture Sophie took of her daughter was posted.

I do want to complement Princess Elena and Princess Sophie, they are looking very healthy these days.:flowers:

A few clarifications: Of the gentlemen listed, Albert von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha and Heinrich zu Mecklenburg-Schwerin were born as Princes (and Dukes). Pierre de Polignac never became HRH. Félix de Bourbon de Parme was born both Prince and HRH, as was the Duke of Edinburgh who was left off the list. Bernhard zur Lippe-Biesterfeld, though born a Count, was already a Prince for 20 years when he became a royal consort.

Sure, but look to Claus von Amsberg, Henri Laborde de Monpezat and Daniel Westling, not to mention Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz, Mette Marit Tjessem Høiby, Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti, Mary Donaldson, Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, Charlene Wittstock, Catherine Middleton and Stéphanie de Lannoy.

That Radu Duda was became Prince of Romania, a title ad personam, was completely in line with practice in all European reigning and non-reigning Houses. That Robin Medforth-Mills, Alexander Nixon McAteer, John Kreuger, Alan Biarneix and Kazimierz Wiesław Mystkowski received no any title is also in line with standing practice in most European Houses.
 
Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu participated, in the Royal Village on the Săvârșin Domain, in a memorial service dedicated to King Mihai. The memorial service was officiated in the open air by the parish priest of the local Orthodox Church, Father Călin Mădăluță, without the presence of the public.

Princess Elena, Princess Irina, Princess Sofia and Princess Maria paid tribute to their father in a private setting, along with their families.

On Monday, 21 December , Her Majesty Margareta, together Prince Radu, gave Christmas presents to the employees of Her House at Elizabeta Palace. In this year's special conditions, the meeting took place online. Also present was Princess Sofia, who took some photos at the Royal Castle of Săvârșin.

The employees of Her Majesty's House were present in Bucharest, in the Great Dining Room of Elisabeta Palace.




Her Majesty Margareta, accompanied by Princess Sofia, donated the hospital in the village of Săvârșin mattresses and bed equipment, as well as a laundry room machines.

In the afternoon of 9 May , in Săvârșin, Her Majesty Margareta, Prince Radu and Princess Sofia took part, in the Royal Village, in the launch event of the volume "The Story of Săvârșin Castle" published under the signature of Prince Radu, at Curtea Veche Publishing House .

Her Majesty Margareta, Prince Radu and Princess Sofia celebrated the National Day on 10 May at the Royal Castle Savarsin.

Her Majesty Margareta sent the message addressed to the Romanian nation on the occasion of the national holiday of 10 May .

At the end of the event, a concert was held by the Arad Philharmonic, under the baton of maestro Dan Crișan.


 
On Sunday, 16 May , Princess Sofia took part, in the city of Predeal, in the award ceremony of the sports competition organized by the Romanian Archery Federation, "Cup of the Royal House".

Albert, Heinrich, Félix, Philip, and Bernhard received princely titles associated with the royal houses into which they married, on top of the foreign princely titles they held by birth (or, in the case of the Duke of Edinburgh, replacing them).

Pierre de Polignac did not marry an HRH. He became HSH like his wife, which is equivalent to the husband of an HRH becoming an HRH.

My understanding from news reports is that Paul has never used, or been listed in official documents, with the name Lambrino, only Hohenzollern and (Prince) of Romania.

On Monday, 19 July in the great hall of the National Theater in Bucharest, the Romanian Theater Union presented this year's Awards Gala.

Princess Sofia took part in the gala and presented the award for "The best Romanian play of the year" to the writer Mihai Ignat, for the play "The snoring princess".

Today 21 September at the Săvârșin Castle, the blessing service took place on the occasion of the celebration of the Silver Wedding of Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu

The ceremony was private and took place in the Hidden Garden of the Royal Park, in the presence of Princess Sofia and Professor Dr. Dan Duda (both present at the September 1996 wedding in Lausanne).




The Little Church at Savarsin Park will be built on the hill next to the pond. On their Silver Wedding anniversary, Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu laid the foundation stone of the church, in the presence of His Eminence Timotei, Archbishop of Arad.
