Today, November 25, King Abdullah, in presence of several family members, received the Parliament’s response to the Speech from the Throne:

I saw the press conference on the news and I've never seen the King to be so nervous and worried about what our unhinged president is about to do in the middle east. Completely insane and the King was on TV like a man about to be going back to Jordan with a BIG target on his back.

I hope he and his family remain safe because this day was not good for him at all.
Did you noticed the blinking every time the King had to explain to the President anything, and hold back not to upset him?

I'm absolutely sorry on what here, in the USA, is going on with these insane plans to depopulate the home of millions without thinking on the chain of events that could put King Abdullah and his family at risk.

Wow, this is a King between a rock and a hard place! I've never seen him physically so affected, this situation can become very dangerous not only for the region but for himself and it shows. Terrible to be so humiliated in front of the world press and sent home with such a package on his back.

It is not a case of the current US administration not thinking about what the chain of events will be if their Palestinian plan is given the go ahead. They know what the consequences are, but they don't care. Actions already taken show that the lives of millions of people mean nothing to them.

This might be an ignorant question, but what exactly do all of you think the consequences will/ could be for Abdullah and Jordan? Do you mean that he could be deposed? A war that could involve Jordan as well?

He does look physically greatly affected. I think he did as much as he possibly could given the circumstamces. He must feel quite powerless, as we all are the world over really, in the face of whatever Trump decides to do in Gaza, Ukraine, Greenland, Panama etc.

There are currently about 7 million Palestinians living within the borders of Israel and Palestine. If they either start running or get forced out the Middle East will descend into chaos and Jordan will most likely implode.

Around 3 million Palestinians have been living in Jordan for decades, around 20% of the population. Jordan is not a rich country, apart from the royal family. Some of the refugees there live in poor conditions and are only tolerated by the local population. It is not surprising that the king will do everything he can to prevent more refugees from arriving. That would endanger the stability of his country.
Egypt is also not prepared to take in the people. There, too, they fear infiltration by Hamas supporters or other radical groups.
