Yesterday, October 9, King Philippe attended the opening of the academic year at the Royal Military Academy (ERM), the "ceremony marks the official commencement of new officer cadets. Prince Gabriel also participated in the ceremony and marched as an officer cadet of the ERM".

The King's Sword was presented to Second Lieutenant Ward Van Praet "named the most deserving officer cadet after three years of study at the ERM":
