To day , Princess Eugenie and the daughter in law of Prince Michael of Kent.

Hello you all! The King and Queen are accompanied today at Ascot by: Princess Eugenie and Jack, Zara, Sarah, Duchess of York and Lord and Lady Frederick!

Lots of lovely photographs. All of them can be seen on my coverage at my Twitter page @the_qvds

Later today I'll post my full list of attendance as usual!

Day 2 I saw Christopher Rhys-Jones with Sophe and Edward. He must be quite old by now but great to see he is able to do this sort of thing at his age. I had hoped we might see Lady Louise at one point now she is an adult (and likes horses); maybe one day.

He is 94 now.

The final day of Royal Ascot 2025 has come:

Despite the scorching heat, Charles seemed to enjoy talking with all his guests at Ascot.
It's nice when such outings are actually fun for him.

I thought I would post here about this as it seems sad not to mark it. Sir Johnny Weatherby died on the 18th December. He was only 66. He was very prominent indeed in racing circles but was probably best known to Forum Members as the late Queen's Representative at Royal Ascot. The Role of Her/His Majesty's Representative is very important, because it is he who has the say-so as to who is granted a badge for admission to the Royal Enclosure.

I thought I would post this reminder about Royal Ascot 2026. This year the Royal Meeting is being held on Tuesday 16th June to Saturday 20 June.

The Ascot website is already open for ticket bookings. Tuesday is the best racing day, Thursday is Gold Cup Day and is also known as Ladies' Day and is probably the most famous day, Friday is now a very busy day [people taking the day off work for a 'long weekend''] I used to be a less-popular day.

If you wish to go into the Royal Enclosure for the first time, you have to make an application and it is a good idea to do so now. You need TWO sponsors unless..........

..........you are a foreign national, in which case you should apply to your country's LONDON Embassy / High Commission and ask the Ambassador / High Commissioner to add you to his/her list. Make your enquiries NOW. It is quite a popular occasion.

I've already started my preparations and have booked an appointment with the designer who is making my outfits. [unfortunately, I am still trying to 'lose' my 'Christmas tummy' Oh woe!] I've also made an appointment with the milliner who does my hats.

Obviously you do not need to 'go Designer'. I do because I have quite a formal social life and I get to re-wear my outfits at other race meetings, royal occasions, weddings etc.

Royal Ascot is a 'must do' occasion for all royal watchers and if you can, please try to attend at least once! I am sure you won't regret it.
