The colour is not the worst offender ,the material /design is simply hideous.

Urgh... never like this gown, dislike the plastic-sy fabric.

It’s very unlike to what Silvia normally wears to Nobel… I strongly suspect another dress was planned but was changed out with the news of Princess Birgitta’s death to a dark coloured one..

A very unusual fashion faux-pas from the Queen but damn that's a huge one : never seen a more unflattering dress. It's simply horrendous.

Queen Silvia recycled the gown she wore at the King's dinner for the Nobel Laureates in 2015.

The designer of the Queen's gown is Shahla Namdar.

She looks as regal as ever, although the sequins on the dress are so densely packed-on that it does give a "less exclusive" quality to it. Having said that ... she looks positively regal!

The dress was OK, but needed the power of the whole set of jewels. Should have worn the necklace of the parure as well. I was completely underwhelmed. Silvia doesn't need to cater to modern fashion dictums of "less is more" and should have piled on the whole damned set of sapphires as usual. Meh.....

Queen Silvia has worn similar fabric in the past and I have never liked it on her. Shimmery lame' is just not very regal IMO. That said, I don't think she has a lot of black gowns in her wardrobe, not that I remember anyway. And, it coordinates with Victoria's gorgeous gown, so it gets a pass from me. I like how Silvia recycles her gowns, too.

I only like the color.

Queen Silvia has worn this Camilla Thulin gown many times. It is beautiful, but not my favourites.
