Ahead of her 80th birthday last year, the Queen started a fundraiser for children in Ukraine.
Funds collected through "Världens barn" (The Children of the World) bag have gone to Clowns without Borders, Erikshjälpen and Plan International Sweden.
On the occasion of the fundraiser, the Queen has met Mark Levengood for an interview.

Mark Levengood met Queen Silvia at the Palace for an open-hearted and touching conversation about what the fundraiser means to the children and to her.
"The fact that Queen Silvia, as her 80th birthday gift, wanted a fundraiser for the children in Ukraine shows the sincere commitment she feels to children's rights issues. It was great to see how knowledgeable she is during the interview, and the conversation became spontaneous and lively. I went to the Palace a little nervous, because the Palace's grand and pompous setting can scare the wits out of anyone, but I left with warmth in my heart", writes Levengood in a comment.
