Queen Silvia attended today a seminar on the occasion of the 300-year anniversary of the Foundation Borgerskapets Enkehus och Gubbhus at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.

The Queen presented the God Förebild (Good Role model) award in connection with a seminar on care for the elderly arranged by the Foundation Borgerskapets Enkehus och Gubbhus The diploma ceremony took place in connection with the commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the Foundation.
The Foundation Borgerskapets Enkehus och Gubbhus was founded in 1724 with the overarching goal of promoting care for the elderly, primarily members of Stockholm's Borgerskap. The foundation runs nursing homes in Stockholm.
 
Queen Silvia handed yesterday over scholarships from the Frimurare Barnhuset Foundation at Bååtska Palace in Stockholm.
During the ceremony, 29 scholars in pediatric research received diplomas from the Queen.

Today Queen Silvia attended the re-opening of "Framtidens rum" on October 10, 2024 at Ågrenska (A national competence center for rare health conditions and other disabilities), Gothenburg.

The Royal Court:
During the morning of 10 October, the Queen visited competence center Ågrenska and inaugurated Framtidens rum, where a music room was added to give children and young people unique cultural experiences. The room was created with support from the Stenastiftelsen.
In the afternoon the Queen visited Gothenburg University on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. In connection with the Queen's 80th birthday, the university received a gift with support aimed at establishing a professorship in global child and youth health, with a focus on mental health. The Queen attended also a round-table discussion in which invited researchers, practitioners and experts participated.

Queen Silvia attended today a symposium on the development of care for Alzheimer's disease.
The symposium "The development of care in Alzheimer's disease and other dementias" was organized by the Solstickan Foundation and the Karolinska Institutet.
 
Queen Silvia attended the Stockholm University Biannual Lecture on Child Law and Children's Rights today, November 28.
The lecture "Realization of children's rights in today's Sweden - conditions and future" was held as "a tribute to the Queen's contribution to the promotion of children's rights"

As a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden and in recognition of H.M. The Queen's invaluable contribution to the promotion of children's rights holds Stockholm University in a lecture series in the area of children's rights. This is the second lecture in the series, this time given in the form of short talks and panel discussions with representatives from children's law research, legal practice and civil society.

Queen Silvia attended today the German Women's Club's traditional Advent celebration at the German Church in Stockholm.
 
Queen Silvia attended the symposium "Progress and Future in Research and Education on Dementia Diseases" today, January 30:





In connection with the Queen's 80th birthday in 2023, Karolinska Institutet presented its gift to arrange symposia focusing on dementia diseases, thereby honouring the Queen's efforts in research and education in the field of dementia at Karolinska Institutet. This was the second symposium.

 
Queen Silvia gave yesterday an audience to Chairwoman Åsa Lindestam and Union Secretary Christine Cars-Ingels from the Swedish National Pensioners' Organization (PRO) and was informed about PRO's organization and activities.

The Queen attended yesterday also the award ceremony of the Merit Badges of the Foundation Crown Princess Margareta Labor Board for Visually Impaired. The Merid Badge is a silver brooch with Crown Princess Margareta's monogram.

Queen Silvia met today Cardinal Anders Arborelius, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm, and Secretary General Peter Brune from the aid organization Caritas Sweden. Together, they informed the Queen about Caritas' aid activities around the world, with a particular focus on helping vulnerable children.
Caritas is the Catholic Church's organization for aid, humanitarian aid and international development.
 
Queen Silvia presented yesterday King Gustav V and Queen Victoria's Freemason's Foundation's Scholarships for research for the elderly at Bååtska Palace. She is the patron of the Foundation.
 
Queen Silvia had today a meeting with the Minister for Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönvall at the Royal Palace.
Camilla Waltersson Grönvall and State Secretary Minna Ljunggren informed The Queen about the state's efforts after the Convention on the Rights of the Child was incorporated into Swedish law in 2020. Svante Rinalder, Communications Officer at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, also participated in the meeting.
