thanks for posting the videos...in the first one that Huda posted, it seemed QR had difficulty interacting with the children versus interacting with diplomats and dignitaries. Though I imagine she interacts well with her own children, mixing the pomp and circumstance of the job with the silliness of kids (for example the child that interrupted her speech to say he likes TV) seemed to be a more difficult feat for her. It was almost awkward, like she didn't know what to say and it threw off her speaking momentum.

I agree with you, Jae143. I think the kids seemed to be a little bored with her speech and the whole introduction (although the man was funny at times). She wanted to catch their attention so she started asking them childlish questions and didn't even expect they would come up with something unexpected...
A little bit bored! The kids look bored out of their brain!!!!
It's normal, because children can focus their attanetion on something for a very short period of time, even if it's something that directly interests them. Also it's a very hard thing to tune in their level and mood. That's why most teacher training programs offer developmental psychology and creative drama classes.;) We can't expect her to perform as spontaneously as an experienced teacher. I think what she has done for children is just wonderful and very benefitial. :flowers:
Just watched Queen Rania on Oprah !!! she is wonderful as always. i loved her sandwich story and also her speech about age (40) .. hope to see the interview soon on youtube.
The book is a true story and lived experience of Queen Rania during her childhood in the school with her friend ..watch this video and u will understand what i mean:)

Thank you! yes understanding other cultures, other people, other perspectives is very important!
