The first Belgian Economic Mission, Queen Mathilde will head, will be the one to Turkey from May 10 - 14, 2026.





Her Majesty the Queen will head a Belgian economic mission to Turkey. She will be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Maxime Prévot, the Minister of Defence, responsible for Foreign Trade, Mr. Theo Francken, the Minister-President of the Flemish Government, Mr. Matthias Diependaele, the Vice-President of the Walloon Government, Mr. Pierre-Yves Jeholet, and the Brussels State Secretary for International Trade (subject to change).

The mission will take place from May 10 to 14. It will stop in Istanbul and Ankara. The Queen will participate in the activities planned for May 10, 11, and 12. The program will focus on the following sectors:
• Energy transition
• Port operations, transport, and logistics
• Healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences
• Aerospace and defense
• Digitalization and Industry 4.0

This mission is organized by the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency (AWEX), the three regional foreign trade and investment promotion agencies – AWEX, FIT, and hub.brussels – and the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs.
