I would think so, but then would you want to wear aportrait around your neck?I think the bracelet would make a great choker.

For a costume ball or a celebration related to the Scandinavian monarchies it would look great thinking of Queen Ingrid wearing the Cameo parure when she was a princess of Sweden but for something like a state visit from non Scandinavian heads of states it would indeed looks weird!I would think so, but then would you want to wear around your neck?
Yes a Princess of LeuchtenbergWasn’t Queen Josefina originally a German princess?
Its not that different, in concept, from the Swedish cameos.I would think so, but then would you want to wear aportrait around your neck?
I was wondering about the brooch but would never have guessed its origins in a million years!A very special jewellery moment for Mary today at the unveiling of a new statue of Countess Danner! The Queen wore for the very first time a citrine, amethyst and pearl brooch from the Crown Jewels, which originally belonged to the Countess, the morganatic wife of King Frederik VII.
Usually exhibited at Rosenborg, this must be the first time the jewel has left the Castle for a (casual) outing!

I've been waiting for years for someone to wear the citrine demi-parure! It was a worthy occasion and I hope won't be the last oneI was wondering about the brooch but would never have guessed its origins in a million years!
How marvellous!
Queen Mary really keeps pulling out surprises for us avid Royal Jewel Watchers!I've been waiting for years for someone to wear the citrine demi-parure! It was a worthy occasion and I hope won't be the last one
Here is a photo from Rosenborg website showing the suite of jewels! Gorgeous! I would love to see the whole set on her. I also wonder if we will see Queen Mary wearing some of the other pieces (ie rings, some other brooches) currently housed at Rosenborg as well!Queen Mary really keeps pulling out surprises for us avid Royal Jewel Watchers!
That could well be paired with the Naassut tiara. But that one remains with Queen Margrethe for nowHere is a photo from Rosenborg website showing the suite of jewels! Gorgeous! Jewellery set of gold with citrines, amethysts, pearls and diamonds. Belonged to Countess Danner, possibly a birthday present from Frederik VII, 1860. Made by court jeweller J. Diderichsen.
Some information Re Countess Danner - The page also consists of links to other items/jewelry associated with her.

Countess Danner was the wife of Frederik VII from 1850. Louise Rasmussen was an illegitimate child. She was trained as a ballet dancer at the Royal Theatre.www.kongernessamling.dk
I had thought of that tiara. I do wonder if QMII will make arrangements to have some of her personal jewels be added to the trust so that many of her beautiful and historic pieces stay in the main line. I truly hope so. I would hate to see some of those pieces sold off or given away never to return to the main line (cough*Alexandrine Diamond Drop tiara*cough)That could well be paired with the Naassut tiara. I hope so too, but the only Problem with the Jewels in the Trust is that they are only for the use of the Queen of the Day. Pity that they have no other Family Trust where the pieces can be loaned out to other Family members, like in Sweden or NL.I had thought of that tiara. Maybe that could be a revision to the rules of the trust that King Frederik could make about certain pieces of jewelry. Maybe even QMII could designate certain of her pieces to a more general pool of items that her granddaughters could borrow for instance. Or a new trust could be established for certain items as well. I also think Princess Benedikte has a lot of pieces given to her by Queen Ingrid for instance that could be designated to such a trust. I mean how often do her daughters have occasion to wear such pieces that they would need to inherit them. If put into a new more general trust, those pieces could be open to them to borrow for when they do attend a function where such jewels are appropriate.I hope so too, but the only Problem with the Jewels in the Trust is that they are only for the use of the Queen of the Day. Lovely as it might seem to have Benedikte's jewellery from Ingrid to be transferred to a trust and made available for other members of the DRF to wear, it belongs to her personally. I can't see why she would transfer ownership of such valuable assets outside her own familial line. After Benedikte, you may see some of those pieces on her children and possibly grand children a few times, and I suspect, in time, they will end up being sold.Maybe that could be a revision to the rules of the trust that King Frederik could make about certain pieces of jewelry. I wonder if there are other pieces that we have not seen in decades that Mary might start wearing ,all very exciting on the QM Jewel front!I was pleasantly surprised to see a jewel from Countess Danners lovely crown jewel set being worn…
Would also love to see Mary wear the full set sometime, with or without a tiara…
Fingers crossed that Mary keeps surprising us with more unusual pieces from Rosenborg…. The Rosenborg jewels was all very rarerly worn before Queen Ingrid who according to QMII investigated if they could be worn more regularly - and got the reply that they can as they are at the disposal of the sitting Queen of the day.. So she started wearing pieces from the crown jewels fairly regularly… Thankfully both QMII and QM has since followed her example..
The Ruby Brooch?Would love if Mary use some of the less used pieces from the Rosenberg collection like the pearls and a brooch here
Yes that one although I think it’s too big to be a ruby maybe a spinal! The Ruby Brooch?
The pearls are stunning.
Its absolutely majestic!Yes that one although I think it’s too big to be a ruby maybe a spinal!
I think that her collection is safe for about 50 years or so as her children has enough funds through their late father estate so we won’t see her jewelry up for auction for a long time or even never!Lovely as it might seem to have Benedikte's jewellery from Ingrid to be transferred to a trust and made available for other members of the DRF to wear, it belongs to her personally. The ruby / spinel brooch will, no doubt, be put to good use by Mary in time. The Ruby Brooch?
