Gala A is the highest level. That means big robes and uniforms, with medals (gala uniform or at least full dress uniform.)
That's a tiara event.
A gala at the Royal Theater has before included a royal walkabout in the intermission. I will imagine that QMII, almost certainly escorted by M&F will go on such a walkabout. Whether the rest of the family, including the children will take part is an open question.
There is a possibility IMO that Christian and perhaps Isabella will take part in the gala and at the theater. - They have to learn at some point and this is a fairly safe festive occasion. I think the whole thing is too "adult" for the twins though.
The gala dinner will with guarantee include speeches by QMII, the PM and no doubt Frederik. - Perhaps one or both of QMII's sisters will speak as well.
And since King Carl-Gustav is a direct relative of QMII, it's far from unlikely he will speak as well. So to speak on behalf of the foreign royals who may attend.
---------------
To my delight I found this condensed article about the Q&A between QMII and ordinary Danes.
https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/kultur/sp...danskere-maatte-spoerge-dronningen-om-alt-her
So here we go.
1) At what point was her destiny clear to QMII, ask psychologist Christian.
QMII: She can't point at the moment exactly but it was clear to her when it was decided to change the Law of Succession. (1953).
She was a bit awed and a little frightened as well, but her father was proud and happy for her and that was the est support possible.
2) Pia, the super royalist, whom I wrote about i my previous post, so this a copy paste.
What has been the biggest experience of Your life?
When she met PH. And standing on the balcony in 1972, being proclaimed Queen. - And of course having her two sons.
Pia guessed that QMII would mention these two examples. Remembering seeing QMII picking up PH at the airport, prior to the marriage. Are You and Your children fine? Our Pia here is babbling away.
Are You still skiing? - Alas, no. Do You ski? - No, too afraid. Prefer the sun anyway. - QMII is not keen on roasting in the sun.
Afterwards: She is fantastic!
3) 76 yo Erik lost his wife in 2019, and shortly after two brothers and one sister-in-law. So he can sense her grief when she lost PH.
He would like to know how QMII coped with her loss and grief.
QMII: It was of course a dramatic change in her life when she lost her husband, but she had a tremendous support from her family. And the support from the Danes was genuinely a great support as well, something that truly mattered.
4) Lisbeth has the impression of QMII being a strong person when out in the public eye, but when has she felt most vulnerable?
QMII dodges that question, replying that she has had so much support from people around that she feel very well looked after.
She points out that situations where she has been ill-prepared are situations where she can feel vulnerable.
5) 47 yo Thomas (My in-laws actually know him. They have met and talked a few times) would like to know how QMII can justify the privileges she and her family has in contrast to ordinary Danes. Believing that all people are equal.
QMII replies that she is very well aware of her privileges and that was installed in her as child, and has been installed in her own children, that they do have special privileges and with that comes obligations and duties.
Being the head of state she does have privileges that makes her life easier and that is counter balanced with obligations.
- Thomas was actually very impressed with QMII's frank reply afterwards.
6) 33 yo Ida admits that she and her family sometimes stray from the principles of quality time and eat dinner in front of the TV, does that happen for QMII as well?
QMII: Basically no. She feels that dining is one thing, watching TV is another.
(As she usually dine with her adjutant and LiW - and sometimes the officer in charge of the Guards detachment as well, - that would be somewhat odd.)
7) 52 yo Dorte notice that QMII has an amazing figure. For many Danes exercise is important, so does QMII exercise?
QMII: She doesn't anymore. She did when she was younger. She is just fortunate that the calories leave her alone.
8) 55 yo Majbritt would like to know what challenges QMII have met as a female head of state? - She is in a sense a feminist role-model.
QMII: She believe she had many advantages as a woman, one reason being that female heads of states were unusual. And being a woman she was not compared to her father. - Just as Frederik will not be compared with her. It's given thing that they will do thing different when of different gender.
9) 30 yo Harley, who show up in her own creation, has been directly inspired by QMII to become a graphic designer and she would like to know where from QMII has her artistic inspiration.
QMII: It was something unusual in the family. Her father was preoccupied with music, her mother was interested in art, her mormor was a fine painter.
So QMII drawing all the time wasn't seen as anything odd.
10) 65 yo Annette who is a grandmother would like to know how QMII is as a farmor?
QMII: She doesn't see her grandchildren much. She has her job and they have their lives. She would like to see them more but...
And no, they don't just drop by.
But she follow them is fond and proud of them.
11) 35 yo Gorm knows that you are on formal You with QMII, but when do you become on informal you with QMII? And is she informal with close friends of J&M?
QMII: Formal first You and after a while and depending on how close friends they were, eventually inform you.
She is on informal terms with many of their friends (hardly surprising as some of them are children of her friends) as well as her own friends, especially childhood friends.
12) 11 yo Louise has been bullied quite a lot at school. So she changed school. She would like to know whether there was bullying when QMII went to school?
QMII: No doubt, because children weren't kinder back then than today.
"There has always been those who bullied and those who were bullied. It's a very stupid little thing, because it's no fun for them."
13) 55 Thomas, with the kilt.
Another copy paste.
A very nervous Thomas. In a kilt.
Do/can QMII and the DRF really know and understand how it is to be an ordinary Dane?
QMII: Yes, very much. By reading papers and just observing that here and there are things that hasn't got a fresh coat of paint.
And "Well at least that fence got painted" by her coming to visit.
QMII asks about the kilt. He celebrated his 50th B-day in Edinburgh and there was a tailor, who said a kilt was appropriate for special occasions.
Afterwards: She was so sweet.
14) 37 yo Jesper would like to know whether there is anything QMII envy the ordinary Dane?
QMII: No. You learn that early on. She knew what she was to become, Queen, that's her life and that's an obligation she is proud and happy to do, so there was no point in envying other people. (Basically a "destiny-reply.")
15) 20 yo Nana has suffered fro stress, so has QMII herself had stress? Not considering her high profile job.
QMII: When she was young, there was such a thing as stress, but didn't know it was stress. So it's not something she has thought about in those lines, but there has of course been times where things were a little demanding.
16) 14 yo Villads. Last copy paste.
Has QMII ever been sorry that she could not choose what to be?
QMII: She saw it as an advantage not having to figure out what to be.
When she was young she would probably have become an archeologist.
Getting out: It wasn't as bad as he might have feared. Quite a nice conversation.
17) 27 yo Frederikke has sometimes wished her future self would return and guide her. So what would QMII like to advise her younger self if she could?
QMII: Really has to think deep to find an answer! - That it'll be alright. That things work out eventually. That something happens that suddenly change the situation or make you look at thing in a more positive light.
That and a bit of optimism.
18) History buff Maja would like to know what QMII wish to be remembered for?
QMII: That she did her best. - That is probably the best legacy you can have.
That's what she has been trying to do since she was very young.
- I could swear I heard there were twenty questions, but I counted and there were only eighteen.
Writing a summary based on this is of course pure luxury for me. The format differs quite a bit from my previous summary (the first three questions) I hope both of them made sense to you though. ?
