Queen Máxima's Daytime Fashion Part 22: December 2024 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
A very cheerful outfit. Not a light design but Natan seldom has those. For something from there it could have been much worse.

Well you couldn’t miss seeing her in a crowd! I think it’s a bit too much, and the loud print of the skirt suggests other aspects should be toned down a bit, but that’s typically Maxima.

This pink Jackie hat was worn for the first time at Prinsjesdag 2003, right?

She looks nice! Seems she didn't have time for a manicure as her nails are quite chipped!

Really not keen on this out fit at all, very busy.
Sam

Queen Máxima opened the Research & Diagnostics Center ADORE in Amsterdam today, May 14, the cut of the top isn't flattering:

I am not sure I see the relevance of a hat for an engagement of this type. For state events, church events and other formal events, sure.

She is more old school royal than other consorts - or is this a Dutch thing?

The hat is too much for an indoor event and the top is not nice either.

I think she continued the example of her mother-in-law, who always wore a hat. Compared to Beatrix, Máxima -uncharacteristically- already has more modest tastes: less hats. And for example during state visits no outfit changes halfway during the day. I remember Beatrix after her abdication visiting Madrid with an outfit for a museum visit and another outfit for lunch with the Spanish kings and kings emeritus a short while later.

The hat is functional, a uniform almost. It is clear where she is, who she is and adds to the cachet of an event. This is an official opening of a research center with many officials there, not a random event. Hence the hat. But she is indeed one of the few holding the fortress which I find a pity. For Beatrix it is said she simply wanted a recognisable and strong sillouette to project her role, and the hat was part of that. After her abdication she seldom wore one.

I am not sure her daughter will follow the same example though, unfortunately. Wearing hats in the Netherlands is very uncommon -we do not have these high society events as in the UK- but it is what is expected of the Queen. We even have a silly carnaval song from the early 90-ties which focusses on the question how many hats the Queen [Beatrix] has.

The hat itself is a repeat from a 2005 visit to Japan says modekoninginmaxima. It was later worn during a heat wave in the Caribean, which did not help to preserve it well. The outfit is new by Natan. The top is made of satin. Not his worst design. More urgent than the hat seems the fact that the Queen would have been helped by some more support in the chest area.

I have no problem with the hats but I find Maxima's fashion inconsistent at times and turning up bedraggled looking at high profile events in NYC and dressed up to the nines for an indoor event in Amsterdam.

Queen Máxima recycled a great Max Mara suit for the anniversary of 10 years of Neighborhood Families in Doorn today, May 15.
More subtle, elegant earrings would have perfected the look, but at least they match colourwise ;)

All in all a great look and colour. And Máxima being Máxima it is as understated as we can expect ;).

For the opening of the King's Games this morning Queen Máxima retrieved her worst top.
It's by Natan and simply awful in my eyes.

I'm so confused. She has a coat where the sleeves drag down and also double as a cape.

On the above, I like the intensity of the colors, but that blouse is revealing too much of her. It can be defined as a lactose intolerant top and, while she was at the Diagnostics and Research Center, they should have helped her get immunity to anything designed by Nathan.

The above look is Maxima at perfection, the teal color looks great, accessories don't scream for attention and her hair pulled back makes her pictures worth a magazine cover.

That's a great colour and suit on Máxima today and her hair always looks nice pulled back.

It is and I think she is wearing her hair up more and more on her day to day “ordinary” engagements

The hat is by Berry Rutjes from The Hague - says modekoningin. I hope HM will order more hats by her hand. The outfit is by Natan.

Great colour and nice seeing her hair caught back for a day time event. Polished. I don't even mind the statement earrings as the suit itself is plain.

A beautiful second look for the opening of the art museum Fenix in Rotterdam today, May 15:

Colour is such a contrast to the morning event. Love the headpiece and her soft hair
