Queen Máxima Jewels 3: March 2025 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.

More closeups of the new brooch - very Máxima

Jewels from the Day 1 of the visit to Suriname - I like the way she is wearing the diamond bandeau tiara, it sits nicely in her hair

It´s a lovely tiara, one of the nicest of the collection in its simplicity. I thought we might see the emerald or star tiara,, as a nod to the Surinamese flag, but this one is much nicer of course.

The diamond bandeau tiara was perfect and worked very nicely with the diamond earrings and bracelet.

Why wear a diamond bandeau at a business suit dinner?
Because it is Maxima, and she can. The reality is that once you step outside of Europe, tiaras are a complete anachronism in 2025. That some royal ladies persevere is great from the perspective of us jewellery lovers, and long may it continue.

Would not so this. The royal ladies from Brunei and the different malaysian monarchies are wearing tiara more often then their european counterparts.

I appreciate royal ladies from Brunei and Malaysia are rarerly under-jewelled (technical term!).

But does a tiara mean much to most people in say, India, Surinam or Kenya? I just think these are now very niche interest groups, and most ordinary people do not care. Similarly, in most cultures outside of Europe, perhaps barring the US / Canada / Aus / NZ, I just don't think people care particularly about white tie vs black tie vs a lounge suit for dinner.

Because she is a Queen, and the people want to see some glitter.
It looks more middle class than royal to do that. In fact, it reinforces Máxima’s “ nouveau riche” image.

We all know Máxima has many jewels. She doesn’t need to wear them in occasions that do not call for it. Besides, it was not polite to the host.

I see no problem with her wearing a diamond bandeau in her hair - it’s an item of jewellery that is a hair adornment. She is wearing other significant pieces with the necklace and earrings which I imagine no one has an issue with.

I think you will find that people of color(as the majority of people in India, Suriname, and Kenya are) also know about manners and protocol. To suggest only white majority countries care about these things is so cringy.

Well it is an official dinner she is wearing a gala dress hence the tiara and she is mart to the face she chose this piece it is just a bejeweled bandeau, the fact that it is made of big diamonds is irrelevant, she could have worn a pretty similar one made of rhinestones that is sold by casual stores like Zara for example and I don’t think you would mind her doing so!

As for the fact that you think it’s not polite for the host to dress your best, it is subjective matter as dressing down when you are being hosted by someone it’s not polite but can actually be an insult to the host that you don’t bother to look your best when you are hosted by them!

This was a great pick imho; wearing a tiara - after all it was a state banquet - but not one of the bigger ones which would be less fitting given that the queen was most likely the only one wearing a tiara/substantial jewelry.

I believe the suggestion is that tiara and white tie are eurocentric protocols so their importance outside of Europe shouldn't be assumed.

Quite right, and well put. These are very "euro-centric protocols". Step outside of Europe and most people do not really care about white tie vs black tie.

This is not about people of colour or manners. It is about what is relevant in a particular culture and what is not. Most of the world outside of Europe doesn't really care about tiaras, white tie dress codes, sashes and all that comes with this.

Nice to see the Queen trying the Wurttemberg again, and with the pearl necklaces. But I have never seen a photo where the tiara actually looked good on her. The middle prong simply seems out of balance and too high. perhaps if she could wear another version of tiara with added pearls between the other open elements it would look better.

I just need more pearl strands necklace with proper neckline in tiara event!

Maxima's tiara appearances of 2025:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

She looks great on all of them but my favorite is # 3 with the dress than matches the color of the tiara's pearls and diamonds.
