HM has a new ring by Cartier, as worn last weekend at a concert. The design is in the shape of Cartiers logo, the panther, and was created in 2005.

Nice to see the Wurttemberg worn well, with a few upright pearls. And lovely to see it combined with so many other pearls.

Great look on Maxima - she knows how to wear jewellery and showcase the collection and we are forever grateful for her vault explorations

I have always been fond of the Ornate Pearl tiara. But I get the sense that Maxima is not particularly fond of it. Of the larger tiaras in the Dutch collection, it is the one she has worn the least.

The 5-string pearl necklace also works well with the Ornate tiara. Might we now be getting to the stage where, Maxima now in her 50s, is starting to enjoy wearing pearls?

A terrible choice imho. I guess it is more a status symbol than anything else? But why would she need that?

The Württemberg tiara looked beautiful ,however the pearl necklace might have worked better witha different coloured gown.
They were still lovely to see.

Now waiting to see it in the full setting with pearls also on the spikes in between.

The Wurttemberg does not seem to be a great favourite of the Queen, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for Amalia's wedding for that ;).

Perhaps a gift from one of her wealthy friends? The ring with the big emerald isn't too classy either, but it was a gift too.

The Dutch East Indies diamond bracelet.
This large diamond bracelet was a wedding gift given to the then Princess Julianna in 1937 and has been worn by Julianna,Beatrix and Maxima too.

Part of me says it is a shame they dismantled the larger bracelet into smaller pieces but the other part understands the logic to create more versatile pieces

I actually prefer the smaller diamond bracelets as worn by queen Beatrix and later by Máxima .

They are lovely as well - just once to twice I want Maxima to go BIG as only Maxima does and wear the bracelet in its original form but I imagine they are permanent
I think the changes are permanent, which is a shame.

That large bracelet had serious presence, and I wish it had not been broken down. The DRF would have had plenty of other diamond bracelets to use.

The pearl brooch HM wore yesterday is from Queen Sophie. But modekoninginmaxima writes there are actually two, very simular brooches in the collection, with a round pearl in the middle, surrounded by two rows of diamonds. The difference is that the first row of one has 16 diamonds, while the other has 12. The first one belonged to Queen Sophie and was listed in the archives of Prince Alexander. While the other one was part of a larger brooch and and a gift of King Willem III to his second wife Queen Emma.

The Dutch antique pearl tiara is one of my favourites and always nice to see!

I am in the minority - I like the base but I find the pearls (well more the middle pearl) too big for the tiara

I am a big fan of the tiara, and was really pleased to see it used last night.

We will have to agree to disagree on this. I absolutely love those antique pearls. They are the star of the show, the diamond base is there purely in a supporting role (all puns intended!)

Some info from modekoninginmaxima:

The tiara was created around 1900 for Queen Wilhelmina, based on a design of a tiara belonging to Queen Anna Pavlovna. The original tiara was probably inherited by Anna's daughter, Grand Duchess Sophie of Weimar.

At least four of the big pearls have been in the family since 1646 and belonged to Amalia of Solms, wife of Frederick Henry. This immediately makes it one of the most important pieces of the collection.

The earrings were added at a later date to the Mellerio ruby parure by Queen Juliana. The ruby pendants can be swapped for other stones, here HM has added pearls.

Do you know if the stud part of the earrings, as worn by Maxima, were part of the Mellerio ruby parure?
