I so do not like this outfit. Not quite sure why the Queen tries this uniform inspired looks ever so often.

The shoulder decorations are terrible imo. They remind me of some of Michael Jackson’s costumes at the height of his fame. The rest of Camilla’s outfit is also rather strange.

As a bit a culture is always welcome, you'll, without doubt, be happy to know that those "shoulder decorations" are in fact directly inspired by the Royal Lancers uniforms, featuring this particular detail. Camilla is colonel in chief of this regiment since 2022.

I am aware that Camilla is Honorary Colonel in Chief of the Lancers.

I will just observe that some shoulder and other decorations look fine on uniforms worn by the military in certain regiments.

Imo however, they do not look fine when transferred on to a woman’s coat or jacket. That is especially so when that woman has never served in the military in any capacity.

As you pointed yourself this is an honorary role, like any other woman in the BRF, but with Camilla it's always a bit different isn'it ?

Anne wears unforms on a regular basis and she never served either. Camilla chose this adaptation to precisely avoid wearing one (even if she's perfectly entitled to do so).

But yeah we get the point ...

Why is it the Queen can wear these statement hats so well? I can’t think of another royal that can without fail achieve such elegance in the large, decorative hat department. It’s not as if she’s a tall woman who has the carriage to set off the look, or that she has wonderful hairstyles dos. I’m genuinely curious what is her secret?

Camilla looks fantastic as always in her hat. Be it a tiara or a full hat, she can rock the bigger pieces.

Only royal who can match her in ability for hats and big tiaras is Maxima.
