Queen Camilla Jewels 2: February 2024 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.

The Queen wore the Prince Albert sapphire and diamond brooch to the Commonwealth Reception at Marlborough House this evening.
I think it's actually the Russian sapphire brooch, not the Albert. Although the pic is not great, the shape of the sapphire and the gold rim are what sets the two apart.

Edit - it's indeed the Russian brooch

The Russian Sapphire brooch has been worn a few times now by Queen Camilla and before her the Queen,Queen Mother and Queen Mary!

You are absolutely right, it is the Russian sapphire brooch indeed. I could not tell from the initial pictures.

Queen Camilla does like the Russian sapphire brooch and has worn it a few times already. It made its debut at the 2023 Commonwealth Day service at the Abbey. If I am not mistaken, QE2 only wore it once, on a visit to Italy.

The Russian sapphire brooch is stunning - I actually prefer it over the Victoria/Albert sapphire

Me too as there the sapphire is more highlighted and stands a bit out not like with the Albert Brooch where the sapphire and the diamonds are one the same line

Interesting info on the pansy brooches - they were speculated to be enamel but in fact they are amethyst and citrine gemstones

I must say up until last week I hadn't really paid much attention to them!

Looks new to me - and large. Be interesting to see what information emerges about it. Does it have Irish connections?

Always a nice look back at Camila's engagement ring - its stunning and one of my favourites

Any closeups from the day 1 day event - I would like to see the sapphire earrings she is wearing

That is a gorgeous turquoise necklace Camilla is wearing at the State Dinner tonight. The earrings appear to be newer? She really looks good in turquoise, suits her coloring very well. Looking forward to more info on tonight's jewels.

The turquoise necklace is from Camillas mother, the late Hon. Rosalind Shand… She wore it early on in her marriage but not so much since…

The earrings are from her own diamond pear drop parure (rumoured to be a wedding gift from Charles) that she has worn to many gala ocsssions..

Good to see the Shand-Cubitt turquoise necklace out again after a very long time, possibly over a decade. HM also wore two of QEQM's Cartier diamond bracelets this evening.

I'd never have guessed the Shand-Cubitt turquoise necklace for last nights State Gala.
The cartier diamond bracelets were stunning!

It is a lovely turqoise necklace, though I am not a great fan of the stone. The design is elegant. It is a great surprise to see it again and let's hope it will inspire Queen Camilla to wear the turqoises of Pss Margaret, if they still are with the family.

I would have preferred one of the emerald necklaces from the Vault with this gown

Whilst I was happy to see the Shand-Cubit turquoise necklace again, I think the dress will work well with an all-diamond necklace as well. The Queen has a few to choose from, from simple collet colliers to the city of London Fringe necklace, to the many Harry Winston style necklaces in the vault.
