Don't think it was her favourite as she did not wear it for the last 19 years of her life and always used the pearl circle tiara. Pity that it hasn't been reappeared since beeing back in the main line.ö

Hopefully we will see it worn by Ingrid Alexandra in the near future.
 
With the norwegian rf being famous for almost never share anything and almost never debut anything (at least not anything that sits om the head), with M-M being chronically ill wich will always make her attendance uncertain until the last minute, and with I-A being sent to the other side of the world for the next 3 years, i wouldn’t hold my breath for any surprises anytime soon….

The risk is overwhelming that i would faint then ;)

I agree.
The tiara will not be seen in this reign. I would faint if it does... I always thought it would reappear for the joint 50th gala celebrations of the Crown Prince couple, which ended up with a barbeque that was 3 times as expensive than a gala dinner and less enjoyable for people (almost nothing in TV). And speaking of the late Princess Ragnhild, I believe she was pictured wearing this tiara only for 8-9 times from 1968 to 1993. That is not alot. How ever, I spoke to a close friend/person to the family, and that person told me the jewels was given back years ago and they want them to be worn. But they are owned by His Majesty, and only he will decide if or when... There will be a possibility for the silver wedding next year, but I doubt they will celebrate as grand as King Harald and Queen Sonja did, as they already was King and Queen when they celebrated in 1993, the last time this tiara was worn, in August 1993.

So basically it is the King who is stingy with the Jewels and does not lent them out to his daughter-in-law or wife.

It is interesting, but I don't think Princess Astrid has worn her other ruby jewels together with the ruby aigrette for almost 20 years. She has worn the ruby setting of the aigrette many times after this. I wonder why. Most of her accessories (she has alot of them, maybe because Ragnhild got the most impressive tiara in the vault), has not been worn for a long time. She continue to wear just a few pieces. But she is the only one that always rotate her tiaras for each event. This time she wore some floral diamond earrings, they have been worn mostly for other events than galas. For example her turquoises, there are several other items we have not seen for a very long time, and she has worn turquoises many times the past decades.
 
Personally I think it is to much for her, its very big and valuable with the diamond toppers, they have many smaller tiaras she can start of with in addition to her own. Her mothers Daisy bandau, the amethysts, the smal version of the pearl tiara, the maltese, and Astrids tiaras when that day comes.

For comaprrison Cp Victoria when she was young wore the smaler tiaras and the bigger ones she first started to wear later in life and after mariage, and there are still the major pieces she has not worn at all, kind of boring of it was nothing new(old) the day she was Queen and has already worn it all.

But Ingrid won’t start wearing the emerald or Josephine’s diamond diadem until she is the Queen, I disagree about having rules about wearing jewelry like small tiaras when young and bigger when you are older, I think it should be a preference for those who got access to it, Ingrid’s tiara is already bigger than the daisy tiara of her mother!
Just keeping it in a safe until the right time doesn’t make any sense!

Yes exactly same for Princess Astrid when she was the First Lady of the court after her mother early death, during the time of her grandfather and father!
 
I hope there is still several years before the Emerald Parure or the big Diamond Parure will land in Ingrids jewel box… That would mean both her grandmother and mother is gone…

It is inevitable that it will one day be the case, but for Ingrids sake i hope it is still several years away…

I don't know what Princess Astrid is thinking about Martha Louise Weddings and Haakon's Wedding she never spoke about as her Sister Raghnild did. To me they will be in a Vault for later to Ingrid Alexandra..

That turquoise set is stunning, particuarly the tiara as there are not a lot of turqouise tiaras out there.
 
The Princess possesses nearly all of the historic turquoise jewels in the Norwegian royal collection. This brooch is arguably the most magnificent single piece among them. The turquoise suite includes several remarkably beautiful brooches, multiple bracelets of varying designs, several necklaces both with and without pendants, a sautoir, and an extraordinarily stunning choker. I believe there may be two turquoise chokers, though I am unsure who holds the other. It is delightful that she can still surprise us.

I would say that she stands in the same league as Queen Ingrid of Denmark, Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom, and Queen Sofía of Spain when it comes to putting duty first. She is truly unique to us Norwegians.

She has never uttered one single bad word in public about her brothers family and i truly admire her for that… It is telling about how close Astrid and Harald is.

Astrid has said that all her jewellery from Queen Maud will be left to the King as she feels that the jewellery coming from the independent Norway’s first Queen should be kept together.

According to Trond Norén Isaksen she has also said the Vasa Tiara from her mother will be left to the King, while her ”smaller jewellery” will go to her own descendants.
