It must have been a very emotionally charged visit for her, particularly meeting patients and their families at different stages on their cancer journey. It’s so typical of her to make this her first appearance of the year.

Very fitting first public engagement since her cancer diagnosis - all her previous engagements have been family events or with William. I often figured she might do this sort of engagement as her solo, Charles was the same last year

It’s wonderful to see the Princess at an engagement so early in the year, and such a meaningful one at that. We always think of royalty being exalted and at a “different level” than commmoners, but seeing her able to relate to all the patients receiving treatment is a sobering reminder that cancer does not discriminate. I wish all the patients the best in their treatment and recovery.

Princess of Wales thanks The Royal Marsden and announces cancer is in remission.

It is fantastic news. I see photos from this engagement and I don’t know if the photographer is just extremely talented or this is really how she is and her impact on the people but those are moving photos. Her empathy shines through, and those people she visited look truly happy to interact with her. There is something very old school and fairy tale-like about Catherine. (And this coming from someone who couldn’t care less about her until years later when she’s noticeably proven herself to be a very steady, unbothered, quietly strong individual, not to mention downright glamorous)

She took her time, built her skills and her confidence. She was very noticeably nervous in the early days, her first speech was not the best but learnt on the job. Slow and steady wins the race. When you watch how she developed over the years it really gives an understanding of the phrase ' growing into the role'

Lovely to see her there, talking to other patients and the staff that helped her and so many. As in her video announcement of her illness she again emphasizes that there are so many in this struggle. A rather thoughtful and personal message of her to share too btw and it is great news that she is in remission.

She has not always captured my interest, personally, but she’s obviously very kind and strong; she makes many people happy, and she does the job well. Can’t ask for much more, can you?

Comes the position, comes the woman.

The news that her cancer is in remission is wonderful and I can't help but think back to this time last year and what must having been going through her mind,

Bravo Catherine!

Glad that such a facility exists for these families and their children. Lovely to see that this patronage that was once held by the late, Diana Princess of Wales, then the King is now passing to their daughter-in-law.

There was a second engagement in Wales yesterday as Catherine visited Corgi Socks which has been a family run wool good factory since the 19th century.
