Marie looks really good & very confident, I really like the way she is carrying herself on this visit. This seems like a very interesting visit.
Florence is a very pretty place.

I believe that this is her second international visit by herself. There was the Lego event in November 2008 in Morocco. I think it's great that she's being sent to these international events. It's a good sign of the DRF's confidence in Marie. She always seems so engaged with the people she meets at these events.

Have you checked other pictures? She is smiling, talking to people around her, taking pictures. If those are not signs of being interested, than I don't know what is...

To me she looks equaly interested in the pictures from rio and in the pictures from Florence, I see no difference in her eyes...
Maybe she did not feel good, but I don't see how can one tell if she's interested or not by the picture of her eyes, when she's smiling, looking at people, talking (at least it looks like she was talking) and taking pictures?

Does Marie speak Italian? I thought I read somewhere she did...She knows lots of languages apparantly...French, English, Italian and of course (learning) Danish...Knowing Italian would come in handy for such a visit!

Acording to the official page, Marie speaks English, Italian and Spanish and she is learning Danish.

Oh, she smiles a lot when she arrives but then she had to endure a tour of an ancient monastery which houses mainly the offices of the president of the European University Institute. Not much to delight in there... a day of duty. Not the "Visit to Florence" feeling at all.

All I see is the low-born, non-graduate Marie Cavallier - a lovely person I am sure - being escorted around places of high culture. It takes a great deal of effort to consider Monsieur Cavallier's daughter as a valid representative of one of the oldest, reigning dynasties in Europe. Some, like me, just cannot achieve this.

Well, I would assume, if the representatives "of one of the oldest, reigning dynasties in Europe" decided that "the low-born, non-graduate Marie Cavallier" is a suitable person for the job, I think they do know what they are doing. Why would someone question their decision - I don't know.

And, I would appreciate if you would elaborate on why you cannot "achieve" seeing Marie as one.
