Princess Madeleine Jewels 2: Jun 2023 -

Lovely to see it being worn by Madeleine. I see no problem in her having access to this tiara. It’s not as if there’s a shortage of options for Victoria.

My thoughts exactly. The tiara suits Madeline and compliments her gown nicely.

I believe the King purchased this privately from a relative, so I can’t see an issue with the Queen loaning her private property to her daughter - or any other person.
It was sold to The King by his cousin Count Michael Bernadotte - much to the dismay of Michaels father (and The King’s uncle) Count Sigvard Bernadotte who wanted the tiara back, and caused the most famous swedish Tiara-Rift ever, and was one of several reasons why there was a lifelong bitter rift between The King and his uncle…

Count Sigvard passed away in 2002 but the Royal Family has been very careful with wearing this tiara, probably out of respect of Count Sigvards widow Countess Marianne who is still alive….. But she turns 101 this summer and will never attend any more tiara events so i suppose every rift must come to an end at some point…

I've read some time ago that Crown Princess Victoria refuses to wear this tiara, for unknown reasons

I am very disappointed that Madeleine got to wear this tiara. Her public programme is limited and she isn't interested in doing the "normal" work events. So it is not right that she is rewarded with the right to wear this tiara which has been only worn by Queen Silvia for a long time. She could have worn her own tiara or one of those she has previously worn.
She just wore the Cut Steel Tiara for the first time in December and now this.
What disappoints me is that princesses of blood never wear a large amount of jewelry (and that have a family history) but then someone outside who gets married has exclusive access to it.
There are others like the braganza that Madeleine will never wear, unlike Victoria.

I would love to see Madeleine in the Queen’s sapphire tiara above all others, but there is something very royal about certain tiaras being designated only for the monarch or their consort.

The sisters of the King have worn large tiaras over the years, even the nine/prong one which I thought was reserved for the Queen. So Pss Madeleine wearing this one is not a problem. Still, i would love to see it soon on the Crown Princess.

Is this the first time Madeleine is wearing the Edwardian Ruby tiara? I have to say I'm surprised at how good it looks on her.
Oh, what a nice treat to see Princess Madeleine for the first time wearing the Edward Ruby tiara.
This is quite difficult tiara to wear due to its shape but it looks indeed surprisingly good on Madeleine thanks to the way it is placed on her head and the way her hair are styled, plus the way it compliments her gown. Truly well styled!

As for Victoria wearing it...she can select the ruby tiara should she want to wear it. Madeleine was first of the sisters to wear the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara, after that Victoria has repeatedly worn the aquamarine tiara, yesterday another example, so perhaps this will encourage to try this one as well in the future?

This was a surprise to see this tiara on Madeleine but it works perfectly with the dress (a better choice than her wedding tiara)

As always, Madeleine really wears difficult tiaras well.

I believe the King purchased this privately from a relative, so I can’t see an issue with the Queen loaning her private property to her daughter - or any other person.
This makes me remember how Madeleine nailed the amethyst tiara to perfection. It can look like a lid on the wrong pot, but Madeleine was, afaik, the first one to wear it very tilted and incorporate the back of the tiara into her up-do. Well, the aquamarine kokoshnik tends to look good on everyone, but Madeleine really stands out in it.

But alas, she missed the target a bit with the cut steel tiara. I really hope that she will give the cut steel another go with a better up-do and a gown that matches the warm tones of that tiara.

Princess Madeleine looked magnificent wearing the King Edward VII Ruby Tiara.

Her earrings were also interesting - I thought they were modern but instead they are from the vaults.

The ring though is a modern addition and not to my taste from the pictures

have mixed feelings about the earrings, they are if I remember right a part of the Braganza parure, I think it doesn’t look good and look like it missing something but when the diamonds that are supposed to be part of it are attached it can look a bit overwhelming as the diamonds are huge!

Madeleine is wearing that tiara better than I've ever seen it worn. The main issue I have with it, is that it looks as though it's had a couple of elements chopped off the sides. An additional upright element at either side would balance it out beautifully and it would be perfect. I've never understood why two identical additional parts were never made and added to the frame.

The Edwardian Ruby tiara is not an easy one to wear but I think Madeleine pulled it off ,I do however feel it should be reserved for the queen.

Because they were photographed with other elements of the Braganza people theorized they were the original earrings but they have been with the Bernadotte's for longer than that. Here is a photo of Queen Lovisa wearing the hoops with large poire pearls attached

Not that I've been able to find

I was surprised to see Madeleine in the ruby tiara, but it looks much better on her then on her mother, It really need to be worn a bit backwards then the high and the not so big diameter are not so obvious
Countess Marianne also used to wear it a bit backwards in the 1960's.

Have we seen them worn since?
I can't recall seeing them recently.

Can't recall anyone else wearing these.

I had forgotten that look - this way to wear this tiara is terrible and not flattering
I see what you mean, but I think her youth and elfin shaped face , plus it’s paired with the wonderful earrings, enabled her to get away with this look. But not something to repeat.
