The Cut Steel tiara has a typical early 19th century design. I agree it looks exotic (actually a bit flamboyant) by modern standards, but the alternative would be this historical piece (probably one of the oldest royal tiaras still worn in Europe) being relegated to a museum exhibition.The Cut Steel tiara is my least favourite Swedish tiara and looks like something from an exotic carnival.
I actually like it somewhat when CP Victoria wears the Cut Steel, but it didn't look good on Madeleine at all at the Nobel dinner.
I wonder why Madeleine chose this particular tiara when she could have worn her own Modern Fringe or the Amethyst tiara.
