Princess Märtha Louise & Durek Verrett News & Current Events Part 2: 2024 -

Derek must certainly still undergo a treatment for his kidneys?
He does indeed.
He must have been a bit absentminded though, because he didn't think himself well as he is in the habit of advising everybody else to do. And it appears his ghost-friends were remissive as well, since they didn't remind him to remember to stay healthy.
It doesn't exactly help that he has declared himself to be a reptile because I don't the donor-registers have that many reptilian kidney donors on their lists.

- Am I harsh, you think? I don't have much sympathy for a quack who made a living of exploiting desperate people who were ill. Some of whom probably didn't make it.
Now karma is catching up with him.

Märtha Louise told to BilledBladet during the Copenhagen Fashion week, hat Durek has moved permanently to Norway.
- I'm not going to talk to him on the phone all the time. I know he's here. Being a single mother is pretty challenging. With three kids who had to go through a very tough time, both mentally and physically, with grief and the loss of their father. It's been a rough ride. We've really come to a good place now. It's really nice to have someone with me who has my back when I need it, you know? So that's the difference.

Märtha Louise and Durek attended the Voyage of Creation Fashion Show in Oslo on August 24:

I had already prepared a post in which I wanted to acknowledge my appreciation for Derek's silence, also on the subject of Marius, by the way. He really did keep his usually loud mouth shut.

We hadn't heard anything from them for a long time, especially from him, who always knows how to polarize with his statements.

But now we're back with the same issues. He is not reformed, not humble, but completely the same as before. Well, most people don't change.

He is doing very well. He probably doesn't need to work anymore and can enjoy life in Norway thanks to his royal wife's position. However, he seems to be very thin-skinned; as soon as he is criticized even slightly by the press, he strikes back vehemently.

I wish Märtha a happy life; she seems very content and certainly didn't always have it easy due to her peculiarities, her obsession with esotericism, her unhappy first marriage, and the suicide of her first husband.
Derek should hold back a little, then he wouldn't give the press any reason to interview him in a way that is unpleasant for him.

The discussion surrounding Märtha Louise and Durek’s Netflix documentary has been moved to the Royal Library forum. You can find the discussion here.

Märtha Louise is still excited about her first wedding anniversary two weeks ago:

On October 15, 2024, Durek announced that he had hired Los Angeles-based woman Jenni Weinman as a public relations advisor and manager.
Now Weinman confirms to TV 2 that the collaboration is over.
– Durek and Märtha are truly special people that I had the privilege of working with for an agreed period of time. Durek has a pure and true heart, and I wish him nothing but continued love, happiness and success.
Märtha Louise's manager Carina Scheele Carlsen says that press inquiries should now be directed to Durek's niece, Alexandria Alava. She serves as Durek's manager in the United States.

Märtha Louise and Durek have been interviewed by Entertainment Tonight.
Now Princess Märtha Louise and Durek reveal that they have already talked about doing more television.
When asked if they are open to doing a reality series about life as a married couple, they answer:
- Oh yes, but it's not something we've started yet. But we've definitely talked about it, Durek reveals, while Märtha smiles broadly without revealing too much.
After having a team in tow for a long period of time, Durek says that he has become more comfortable in front of the camera, and does not rule out that there may be more of him and Märtha Louise on screen.
Durek also hopes that they can connect with Harry and Meghan on some point.

A column in Nettavisen, to Durek:
"The massive criticism you've been subjected to in Norway isn't about your skin color or racism. It's about all the nonsense that flows out of your mouth completely unfiltered. There are almost no limits to what you can say."

Why not? We seriously need some light entertainment these days and these two couples are better than what any satirical show can come up with.
Absolutely!
I almost expected their reaction. They are both publicity-hungry and love self-promotion, so they fit very well into the modern social media world. I could imagine them developing a kind of “reality show” or “daily soap” to showcase their lives, peppered with Durek's philosophies and wisdom. That would be the perfect stage for him.
It might also bring in a good income.
However, it is doubtful how they intend to comply with the rules imposed by the royal family in such a venture.

I wonder how much interest there is in following the antics of two semi-royal couples, whose main qualifications appears to be whining and burning bridges.
Especially with all the othe global problems these days.

Every now and then I stop by here to catch up with my second favorite controversial royal couple and when I read this I thought I'm glad someone has the courage to reply to Durek's claims.

Durek is committing the unpardonable sin of being boring. It's getting tedious and monotonous. - The irony is that it actually helps the NRF. They get more sympathy, according to recent polls I read about when this latest segment of the Durek & ML Show was aired. And they really need sympathy...

Märtha Louise & Durek's relationship tips:
"We believe love isn’t something you find, it’s something you build together. Every day we choose to create a relationship rooted in truth, trust, and deep devotion. These 5 relationship tips are the pillars that keep our love strong, passionate, and sacred.
This is how we love, this is how we rise together".

Sounds all very nice, but does that help anybody?
To me, this sounds like the universal "word salad" you read everywhere on social media, whether it's celebrities, influencers, certain members of royal families, or even former members. It's all the same gibberish.
That sounds harsh, I know, but I get tired of always reading the same stuff that people publish on their Insta and what not.

Mr and Mrs Obvious struck again.
And in other news: The sun rise in the east.

Märtha Louise and Durek at Swedish talk-show "Carina Bergfeldt":
Expressen told last week about the special recording of SVT's "Carina Bergfeldt". The studio audience was forced to hand over their mobile phones and special rules of conduct applied. It was because of Märtha Louise and Durek.
The recording was made on Monday evening a week ago in Stockholm. Märtha Louise and Durek flew from Norway and went directly to the recording studio.
Carina Bergfeldt says that there were no restrictions on what questions could be asked. She believes it was important for ML and Durek to “get another chance to tell their story”. Among other things, ML highlights in the interview how she feels her family has handled the aftermath of the Netflix documentary.
- They haven't wanted to do any interviews with Norwegian media, so it was very nice that they wanted to be with us. They talk about the documentary, life, criticism and Märtha Louise talks about that seven out of ten in Norway want her to get rid of her princess title. It felt very open and generous. They had decided that they wanted to talk.

Svensk Damtidning writes about Märtha Louise and Durek at Swedish talk-show "Carina Bergfeldt", obviously the press has had access to it - it will be shown at SVT1 and SVT Play tomorrow.
Durek is asked about his kidney and how he is feeling today.
– It affects my life because I am used to traveling and lecturing all over the world. It is challenging because when I am invited to lecture, I have to find a place when I can go on dialysis. There are days when I can barely walk and have to force myself to go down or up the stairs.
Märtha Louise is also affected by her husband's illness.
– There is a lot of driving. I drive him to the hospital three times a week and it is an hour's drive each time.
Despite his serious illness, Durek chooses to be optimistic.
– I am alive and I will live my life to the fullest.

Märtha Louise and Durek's interview at SVT's talkshow "Carina Bergfeldt" - they are the first guests.
Durek leaves after their interview but Märtha Louise stays and speaks with other guests.

Nettavisen's royal expert Tove Taalesen writes about it among other things:
I have watched the entire interview, so you don't have to waste your time.
Although expectations were high and the promotion promised exciting conversation topics, there was little new to learn. It was all predictable, and quite boring.
It's no surprise that the interview starts with clips from the Netflix documentary. It was to remind Swedes that Princess Märtha Louise is royal, and to raise curiosity about the documentary.
Everything the couple does is about commercial interests, and who can really blame them for that?
It's about making money and selling what they have. It's no surprise that Märtha is traveling to Stockholm on a diplomatic passport. She is, after all, a princess of Norway.
According to Märtha, "princess" is part of her name. She has no intention of complying. It makes me wonder how seriously the title dispute is actually taken at the Palace.

More from this interview

"The couple is also asked by the host about what they have had to sacrifice for love.
Verrett takes the floor:
– My reputation. I spent many years traveling the world, building a reputation among very prominent people in society. Then everything was tarnished, ridiculed and made fun of by people who just twist everything I say.
Märtha Louise shares that she has had to scale back her official role.
– I focus on what is best for my family and lineage. That is my focus. I run my business."

and speaking of one her business,
"Märtha company is liquidated after financial troubles
Princess Märtha Louise's horse company has had financial problems. The board has now decided to liquidate the company."

That's silly, she doesn't need a passport to travel to Sweden, no Norwegian does.
