After the official event there was a reception in the Academy for the cadets and their families. Felipe gave another speech and at the end gave the floor to Letizia who thanked the staff of the Academy (kitchen staff, cleaning people, professors, administrative staff...) for taking care of their young people.

From February 2 to 9, the Princess of Asturias will face a new and tough period of instruction that includes physical activities of high levels of resistance and fatigue.
Vanitatis has confirmed that, in addition to the scheduled week in February, the cadets will face new tests from March 11 to 22 and from May 27 to June 7. Then, Leonor will enjoy a period of rest before assuming her responsibilities at the Naval Military School as a first-class midshipman (Pontevedra).

It's a great sport.

Trains speed, agility, reflexes, analytical mindset and controlled aggression - all at the same time.
 
Glad to see Princess Leonor so independent and in the company of diverse people of her own generation. She has spent most of her life isolated within the Zarzuela and family unit, mostly because of her security. I'm happy she is now capable to be on her own.

Re security, I'm sure is a major concern with her and I have noticed when she is in a group her friends always surround her, like they are very protective of her.

I wonder if it's instructions they were given considering she is a future head of state, or just they decided to become her very own personal guard when in open spaces. Is good she has such a team of friends for life in this military class.

A few news on Leonor and her training:
- she got a distinction for her dedication and work at the acedemy
- her training at Zaragoza will be over on July 15, moving on to the naval training at Pontevedra
- the director of the acedemy spoke about Leonors day to day life there
- there was a scandal at the acedemy, an officer of high command had sexual relations with a cadet (mutually but still forbidden)

I am not following along: Leonor is in her first year. Why is she participating in an exercise week for second year students? Is it because she is only doing 1 year in each section of the armed forces?

Leonor is doing the first and second course in one. She attended the first weeks of instruction with the first-year students, but after the swearing-in of the flag she moved on to the second year.
 
Thanks, so she is indeed receiving a special program; even in her first rotation (it would make sense for the next years to not have her repeat the same basic courses over and over again but for her very first year of military training it makes less sense. I hope that didn't cause any bad feelings to either her companions in the first nor second year as it wasn't based on her achievements but only on her position.

Everybody including her classmates knows Leonor is there as a special student and isn't doing the normal course of study.

She's not receiving a reward, but likely rather more stress by compressing her studies and having to change academies every year, so I'm not sure why any other student would be envious or want to be in her position.
 
Princess of Asturias already has a driving license.
As Monarquia Confidencial has learned, Princess Leonor signed up for driving school to advance in her theoretical classes. Now, in Zaragoza, she has been able to continue with her driving studies to finally obtain her driving license.

She's 18, so that seems a normal age to get her drivers license (especially since teenagers can starting preparing for it while 17). Is it common to wait much longer that you talk about 'already' has her drivers license?
 
I think it’s completely normal that Leonor’s studying program is individualized because of her position. She barely gets any special treatment. She has very high pressure for the 18 year old girl.
