JMO - because she has been a very close part of the family for years and years. Because of the role she has played in all their lives over many changes. Because she has been a point of consistent support and care-giving. She still lives with them and probably will when they leave the White House. My grandmother had the same role in my family. :flowers:

i appreciate that she is a close member of the family - yet this is an official trip, not a family holiday. i think the line should be drawn at obama's children, not at his mother in law. the constitution sets a formal role to the first lady, but not to his kids, so even that is pushing it. this is paid with taxpayers money, let's not forget.

It is an interesting development. It can be regarded as an indicator hat Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman prepares to succeed his father.
 
According to the greek press Lalla Salma came to Greece from holidays in 25 June:

"She arrived by private flight at Araxos' political airport, escorted by her son, prince Moulay Hassan
In Greece, the beautiful Princess of Morocco, Lala Salma, was landed in the afternoon, which landed on a private plane at the Araxos Civil Airport with a private flight.
The princess was accompanied by her son, prince Moulay Hassan. According to information, the escort is large and the family that every summer comes to our country, especially in the Killini area.
In order to ensure safe arrival and the official reception held at Araxos Airport, all the measures provided by the airport security and Police had been taken."

"Lala Salma, appeared in the center of Patra.

She was quite friendly, but she preferred not to get in touch with the world, avoiding her identity while shopping from a well-known shopping mall in the city.

He came to Patras as he lives these days in a well-known Killini hotel that she loves and visits every summer."

I checked Magda account and she confirmed that
She received the caftan but it does not mean that
She met lala salma personally

Thanks for the update!:flowers::flowers: Lalla Salma is said to holiday in Greece as often as she can. It is somewhat surprising that only Crown Prince Moulay Hassan accompanied her. One might wonder where Lalla Khadija was.

Exactly why she accompanied her son not her daughter? And if lalla khadiga is not ok is it reasonable that her mothet leave her for a holiday?

Maybe because it's an agreement between the parents..
sush arrengement is not unsual between divorced couple:the father have the girl and the mother the boy or the contrary.
The most important Imo that we know now those crazy remours about been exiled or emprisoned or separated of her children are not true as it seems.
 
Strange! If there such an agreement its logical that
The king keeps the boy (crown princ)e and the mother have the girl specialy she still a child.

I didn't mean it as permanent agreement but just a way to deal with the custody of the children, you know: summer holiday with the mother, school break with the father... And so. if you see what i mean.

To me even the pic is not clear i can say that's Lalla Salma from her hair and posture...good to see her especially after all the crazy remours since the separation news.

With all respect to all Greeks but I disagree , arabain rulers buy journalists even in France and Uk
So yes they can do that in Greece.
