On October 28th, Princess Kako attended the 22nd Nihon Chukinto Africa Fujinkai (NCAF) Charity Bazaar at Royal Park Hotel in Chuo, Tokyo. She mainly purchased recommended items from each booth. At the Palestinian booth, she bought a traditional embroidered bag strap made by hearing-impaired women.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to women and children in the Middle East and Africa. 25 embassies and NGOs participated this year with booths showcasing traditional clothing, crafts and cuisine. The bazaar is held every 2 years. Former Princess Mako attended in 2019.

Interesting quote; as she has a very limited set of 'options' (and her brother even less so):
The princess is engaged in her duties with the hope of creating a society where everyone can live with peace of mind and have a wider range of choices, according to the agency.

On February 13th, Princess Kako met 6 traditional craft artisans at the Akishino residence. She listened to explanations on techniques and thoughts on their respective crafts, such as Bizen ware and Edo joinery. Tools and completed works were also displayed.

This was a rescheduled audience. Kako was scheduled to meet artisans during a Traditional Crafts Convention in November 2025 but canceled after contracting Covid-19.

I can’t help but think it’s unfortunate that Kako will disappear from royal life if she chooses to marry. She seems like a lovely young woman, very cheerful and engaged, and she’s either genuinely interested during every engagement she does or she’s unusually good at pretending.

On March 2nd, Princess Kako visited the 57th Naruhodo Exhibition, organized by the Japan Women Inventors Association, at Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan in Chiyoda, Tokyo.
